Ticket sales are now open for the 7th Wiesław Maniak International Memorial Tournament

On the afternoon and evening of 28 August 2024, the Wiesław Maniak Municipal Track & Field Stadium in Szczecin will host the 7th Wiesław Maniak International Memorial Tournament. Ticket sales for the event start today.

The Wiesław Maniak Memorial Tournament is a recurring event in memory of Szczecin’s legendary sprinter, Tokyo 1964 Olympic medallist and European Champion. The Tournament will feature a host of competitions, pitting against each other top athletes from Poland, Europe, and beyond. Encompassing 13 events, this year’s edition will be held right after the Paris 2024 Olympics (26 July – 11 August). It will be an excellent opportunity to showcase the new medallists and finalists of the most important tournament in the world of track & field.

“Szczecin has always loved track and field competitions, and you could see this at previous tournaments, which filled the stadium to capacity,” said Celina Wołosz, Spokeswoman for Żegluga Szczecińska Turystyka Wydarzenia. “Every year, the Memorial Tournament celebrates track and field in our city, creating excitement among adults and children alike.”

Already one of Poland’s top track and field competitions, the Wiesław Maniak International Memorial Tournament is committed to building its brand internationally. The 2023 edition has gotten international recognition and excellent feedback both in the sports community and among the audience, volunteers, and representatives of partner organisations and institutions. Based on this positive reception, the organisers decided to upgrade it to an international event. As a result, this year's 7th Wiesław Maniak International Memorial Tournament is now part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze Level Meetings.
