This Saturday, 20 July, the Youth Representation of Szczecin to the TallShipsRaces will be leaving for Gdańsk, where the sailing ship, STS Kapitan Borchardt, is already waiting for them to board and join the TSR!
They have participated in three integration and training meetings, including joint games, activities and a “pre-Race brainstorming session”. The agenda for the young sailors was prepared by Marcel Mroczek, running the Palace Theatre Workshop.
“For many of them, this is the first sea adventure” – said Monika Wilczyńska from Pałac Młodzieży – the Pomeranian Education Centre. “They will also have a lot of responsibilities to bear, including daily watches and additional tasks. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for them, looking forward to daily reports from the voyage!”
“The Youth Representation of Szczecin to The TallShipsRaces 2024” is a training cruise for students aged 15+, involving participation in the third stage of the regatta. The cruise is organised as part of the “On the Trail of Great Voyages” Project and is carried out by Pałac Młodzieży – the Pomeranian Education Centre in Szczecin, within the framework of the Szczecin Water and Sailing Education Programme.
VESSEL: STS Kapitan Borchardt
PLANNED ROUTE: Gdańsk – Visby – Mariehamn – Szczecin – Świnoujście
The training cruise will enjoy the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Szczecin.
