Szczecin. Summer in the city does not need to be boring!

Walks, cruises, concerts or cinema screenings – there are plenty to choose from during the summer holidays. Just choose the most fitting one and begin an unforgettable summer adventure.

Right now, we are awaiting two months of holidays. In case you are still lacking any specific holiday plans, we are here to guide you and suggest some ideas on how you have the chance to enjoy the summer vibe in the city.

      Explore and relax

Holidays in the city may be spent in a remarkably interesting manner. There is no need to travel far to experience the call of nature and appreciate the beauty of the surrounding environment. Everything you need to do is rent a kayak, download the Explore Oder app, and paddle out onto the Oder floodplains, visit the hidden corners of Lake Dąbskie, or take a break and relax at the new marina in Klucz. Szczecin is one of the few cities that delights visitors with its proximity to green areas and water. There is no need for extensive resources or equipment – motorboats can be rented from the boulevards without a licence, allowing you to explore the city from the water.

For those who prefer not to relax by the water, the app also provides information on cycling routes around Szczecin and the surrounding area. Explore Oder also offers ready-made trip suggestions for cycling enthusiasts.  There are as many as 11 most interesting routes, running along both the Polish and German banks of the river. The routes highlight places of interest, car parks, tourist attractions, intersections with other trails and transport suggestions. Among the suggested excursions are: the White-tailed Eagle Trail, Blue Velo, the Western Lake District Route, and the Odra-Nysa Trail. The app provides not only ready-made routes and trip plans, but also plenty of useful information and photos.

Another option for discovering the secrets of the city are organised walks with city guides, which are held every Saturday during the summer holidays in three languages: Polish, German and English. The dates and schedules of the trips are available on the platform: https://tourszczecin.eu. For walking tours, our recommendation is the Explore Szczecin app, which offers route suggestions and an audio guide. Once installed on the device, users may select one of ten routes based on the Municipal Tourist Trail. Points of interest, attractions and interesting facts have been marked on the suggested itineraries. Visitors are encouraged to read about the places they pass or listen to the audio guide.

      Let's go to the cinema

To be clear, this isn't about a closed space in a shopping centre, but summer outdoor screenings. Owing to the fact, that there are quite a few of them in the town. The SBO project involves our outdoor multiplex visiting the Zawadzki housing estate every Tuesday.

On Thursdays, the Cinema on Deckchairs appears in various districts of the city – in Niebuszewo, Żydowce, Pomorzany, Gumieńce, as well as in the Zawadzki, Arkoński and Majowy housing estates. Altogether, there will be 10 locations covering the entire city. This year's repertoire includes comedies, animated stories about discovering secrets and mysteries, stories based on real events, as well as adventure- and action-packed encounters with evil characters – something for both the youngest and more mature viewers. The repertoire and locations are available at www.zstw.szczecin.pl in the “Cinema on Deckchairs” tab.

      Come visit the Island

We may not have the sea, but we do have a place that brings a maritime atmosphere. The beach on Grodzka Island is the perfect place to chill out on holiday. Deckchairs, seaside sand, a beach volleyball court, lots of attractions for children and a food court will undoubtedly give you that holiday vibe. Weekends also offer plenty of organised events, such as concerts, DJ sets and entertainment for children. A detailed schedule is available on the Grodzka Island Facebook page.

      Łasztownia abounds with attractions

The heart of Szczecin beats on the Oder River, and Łasztownia is the best proof of this. It is the boulevards that attract hundreds of thousands of tourists during the season, who eagerly enjoy the permanent attractions.

Food Port is now a permanent fixture in Łasztownia. In a specially designated area, throughout the summer holidays, you will be able to enjoy delicious food, relax on the green grass, drink lemonade, cool off in the shade and taste artisan ice cream. Every year, the zone is supplemented with additional furniture and landscape structures. Food Port is located in the very centre of Łasztownia – a place where the most important events take place in summer and where the largest crowds of residents and tourists gather.

Tomorrow, on July 5th, the city's largest amusement park, Holiday Park, will open. An integral part of the complex is a nearly 60-metre-high observation wheel, visible from the entrance to Szczecin. Colourful lights, enchanting music and a unique atmosphere will create the true magic of summer entertainment at Holiday Park. Visitors will discover 20 different attractions, ranging from classic carousels for the youngest to extreme experiences for adrenaline seekers.

Our holiday recommendations would not be complete without the Bulwarove series, the first edition of which we premiered at the beginning of the summer holidays. The next weekend picnic for families who enjoy combining sports activities with outdoor relaxation is scheduled for July 26th to 27th. Entertainment zones for the children, large-scale games and activities are awaiting entire families at WOŚP Square. Bulwarove is also dedicated to running and promoting an active, healthy lifestyle. Registration for runs for adults and children is currently available on the website: www.protiming24.pl.

Let's set sail for Szczecin! Żagle is coming

In mid-August, both Łasztownia in Szczecin and Wały Chrobrego will be crowded with magnificent sailing ships that will arrive in Szczecin for Żagle 2025. Sail-focused Szczecin welcomes you! The sail event is a three-day festival where the maritime harmonizes with a family atmosphere.

Both banks of the Oder River will be full of proposals for everyone, regardless of age. Sports and entertainment zones, two music stages, amusement parks, food truck events, deck tours and sailing trips on the Oder River – all of this will be waiting for you on August 15th to 17th. Throughout this time, Szczecin will amaze visitors with its hospitality, diversity, colours and fine music. Colourful parades of brass bands will march through the streets of the city, once again competing for the Mayor's Cup. The stages will host well-known and beloved performers, and together with Piotr Banach, we will celebrate his double anniversary. The festivities will be three days of unforgettable fun!
