Women and Sounds

Katarzyna Jackowska

Szczecin Philharmonic
As curators of this exhibition, we aim to create a space where the equal sounds we believe embody feminine energy can be heard. Women and Sounds is not only an artistic interpretation of often marginalised women's voices but also a reflection on the social inequalities women face daily.
Each piece presented in the exhibition offers an individual interpretation of this theme, created by lecturers and students from the Academy of Art in Szczecin. The works combine visual art with sound in innovative ways. The exhibition also seeks to raise awareness of the critical issue of breast cancer prevention. October has long been recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Women and Sounds is part of the FilHERmonia series, organised annually by the Szczecin Philharmonic, marking a significant cultural event in the city's calendar.
