Kamil Winnicki – Reliefs – A Multidisciplinary Project

The exhibition will remain open until 9 May (excluding 1–2 May), Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, and during other events – also with free admission.

Reliefs is a multidisciplinary artistic project combining fashion, sculpture and photography. It is a dialogue between texture, space and the human body, in which fashion ceases to be merely clothing and instead becomes sculptural form and a tool for expression.

The project draws attention to unmarked and often overlooked sculptures located in Szczecin along Jana Pawła II Avenue, on the route leading to the City Hall. In the urban environment, these works are easily lost in the architectural details and the bustle of the city. To make them more visible, each sculpture is accompanied by a specially designed panel that separates it from the façades of the tenement buildings and highlights it against its surroundings, where it had previously remained almost invisible. This treatment allows the sculptures to re-emerge and encourages passers-by to engage with them.

Notably, these sculptures bear no plaques or information about their creators. They are not marked on any maps or listed in guidebooks – they must be discovered independently. The project not only highlights their existence but also invites reflection on how art in public space is so often unseen or unnoticed.

Each presented figure is a sculpture in its own right – not only through its form but also in the way it interacts with the surrounding space. Set against monumental backdrops, on the boundary between reality and abstraction, the models transform into living installations. This is a narrative of unexpected material and structural juxtapositions. Reliefpresents fashion as an architecture of the body, where clothing becomes a medium for constructing identity and telling stories.
