Basia Tylewska – Feeling Life – Painting Exhibition
"Feeling Life" explores a painter’s self-reflection on the cyclical nature of time and the duality inherent in the medium of painting and the language of metaphor. Life and non-life—our ways of perceiving or refusing to perceive them—are like two sides of the same canvas: one vibrant with colour, the other revealing only darkness.
Feeling, as an experience, seems to transcend perception and unify it. Within consciousness, a subtle yet persistent tension unfolds—a struggle with not feeling, and not seeing, the presence of non-life.
In the porous space between life and death, the image longs to speak—and thus, to live. At least that is what I have come to believe so far." – Basia Tylewska

Basia Tylewska, an oil painter from Szczecin, is a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers (ZPAP). Her works have featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including:

“The Symbolic and Artistic Field of Polish Folk Culture” – An Exhibition by the "13 Muses" Art Group

This season, the "13 Muses" art group has drawn inspiration from traditional Polish folk culture—costumes, dances, music, and rituals. Their paintings and graphic works capture the essence of folk art, also delving into traditional embroidery techniques such as Kashubian embroidery, known for its distinct regional styles.

The artworks reference designs found on historical postcards and portray ceremonial attire worn during rural celebrations like harvest festivals, Śmigus-Dyngus, and other religious customs. Each piece reflects personal interpretations and emotional ties to the Polish countryside, its heritage, and its fate—intertwined with the broader story of the nation.
