Invest in Szczecin Open has a new sponsor

The organisers of Invest in Szczecin Open announced a new headline sponsor for the event during a press conference this Wednesday.
Signing of a letter of intent for 2024–2026

During the conference, the City of Szczecin, the Polfund company and the organisers of the Szczecin Open Tournament signed a letter of intent to seal a three-year partnership deal. All three partners were enthusiastic about helping the Tournament grow and supporting tennis in the region as they opened a new chapter in the history of this prestigious sporting event.

The first comment came from Krzysztof Bobala, Director of Invest in Szczecin Open:

“As ever, there can be only four headline sponsors, and today, our esteemed lineup of sponsors comprising the Szczecin Metropolitan Region Development Agency, Lexus Szczecin and mvb is joined by Polfund. This is a highly valuable addition, allowing us to improve our Tournament, including to streamline the organisation of the music festival, as well as to encourage even better players to compete in Szczecin,” said Krzysztof Bobala.

Piotr Krzystek, Mayor of Szczecin, took the floor next:

“We are working out the last details of another part of the project aimed at upgrading tennis courts in addition to the tennis arena that has helped us with the organisation of this Tournament for years. We are awaiting government decisions on regional funding. Tennis courts hold an important place in Szczecin’s investment agenda as our sporting facility showpiece alongside the new football stadium and swimming pool complex. I am thrilled that we have a new headline sponsor on board, and a major institution at that – a loan insurance fund. We are looking forward to continue this partnership for at least three years, helping us to grow and promote Szczecin in Poland, as well as internationally,” said Piotr Krzystek.

Marcin Pawłowski, President of the Board at Polfund S.A., provided the concluding remarks:

“We are donating PLN 500,000 to Invest in Szczecin Open. As well as providing financial support, we want to help the organisers secure new sponsors. One of our shareholders may become involved in the process soon. I believe that every robust business in Szczecin should support such major events. Just as we help businesses grow, we want to contribute to the development of Polish tennis. Our talks on a potential partnership started already last year, and it was not a difficult decision for us,” concluded Marcin Pawłowski.

The Tournament will start on 9 September and the final match is scheduled to take place on 15 September. Ticket sales will start on 1 August.
