Szczecin functions as the first stop on the ferry crossing across the Szczecin Lagoon. The waterway will be used as a pedestrian and bicycle ferry crossing on the route: Szczecin - Nowe Warpno - Świnoujście and back.

Local Government Water Route

The Local Government Water Route represents a unique initiative of local governments: the Police District, the municipalities of Szczecin, Świnoujście and Nowe Warpno, and the West Pomeranian Province. It was created for residents and tourists who are keen to combine recreation with discovering the picturesque hidden spots of Western Pomerania – not by car, but by water.

It is a modern and eco-friendly form of travel that combines the pleasure of a peaceful cruise with the opportunity to discover charming locations in the region. Regular ferry services between Szczecin, Nowe Warpno and Świnoujście run every Saturday and Sunday during the summer season, from 28 June to 24 August.

The waterway was created specifically for:

- families considering an interesting idea for a weekend trip,

- tourists willing to see the region from an unusual perspective,

- cyclists planning a longer trip along the coast – ships allow bicycles to be transported, so that the cruise may become part of a larger, active trip,

- senior citizens and individuals seeking a peaceful, safe form of relaxation close to nature.
