Zaleskiego Street was opened for traffic on 1 December
Zaleskiego Street, along the Wojska Polskiego Avenue – Wyspiańskiego section, has been open for road traffic since 1 December. We want to remind you that the works on the Łękno junction have not been completed yet, so we ask drivers to stay cautious.
The investment
Łękno junction is one of the biggest and most important road construction projects implemented as part of the current EU financial perspective. The project involves the construction of another part of the Central Highway (from Askońska and Niemierzyńska Streets to the Wojska Polskiego Alley), the reconstruction of railway track along the new road and the construction of an intersection at Wojska Polskiego Alley. Ultimately, the junction will play the role of an interchange hub for the Szczecin Metropolitan Railway.
The total cost of the works is approx. PLN 140m gross. The contractor is a consortium of the following companies: ROVER INFRAESTRUCTURAS S.A. and ROVERPOL SP. Z. O. O. The investment is supervised by the Municipal Investment Department of the Szczecin Municipal Office.
The project named “The construction of Łękno integrated communication hub together with infrastructure en route of the Central Highway for the operation of passenger transport in Szczecin” received the funding under Measure 2.2 Sustainable multimodal municipal mobility and adaptive measures mitigating climate change as part of the Integrated Territorial Investments Strategy for the Szczecin Metropolitan Area. The amount of the funding is PLN 73 000 000.
