Żagle 2022 without the floating bridge

Out of concern for the safety of our residents and the tourists who are already coming to Szczecin for the upcoming Żagle 2022, the city emergency management centre has decided not to build the floating bridge.
“We realise that the bridge would facilitate moving around the event during the sailing festival, but at the same time it would pose the risk of more dead fish accumulating at its base,” said Andrzej Kus, Spokesperson for the Żegluga Szczecińska Turystyka Wydarzenia company. “What is important is that the absence of the bridge will significantly reduce the risk of event visitors coming into contact with the waters of the contaminated Oder River. However, we would like to stress it again that the safety of people is nevertheless the most important for us and it is our priority.”
During this difficult time for our river, we are ensuring full access to the reservoir for the services that currently carry out their activities almost 24 hours a day.
