Żagle 2021: Changes in traffic organisation and opening of the Pass Office

Preparations for the Żagle 2021 event are under way. Next week, changes in traffic organisation will be introduced in the area of Wały Chrobrego and Łasztownia. From Wednesday, 21 July, the Pass Office will be open, where residents of the surrounding streets will be able to collect entry passes for access.

The greatest events in our city are always connected with certain modifications in the organisation of traffic and public transport. Some streets will be closed and additional buses and trams will appear on the routes. The purpose is to facilitate residents’ communication with the event area, as well as a smooth return home. We kindly ask drivers and passengers to familiarise themselves with what awaits them during Żagle 2021.

Residents of the streets covered by the changes will be able to access their homes upon presentation of an entry pass. These will be available from 21 July at the Pass Office at 6 Jana z Kolna Street, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

TRAFFIC ORGANISATION

The temporary traffic organisation, lasting from Wednesday 28 July to Tuesday 3 August, will be divided into several stages.

28 July (Wednesday) at 00.01 am, closure of:

- Wendy Street and Zbożowa Street from the intersection with Spichrzowa Street,

- Komandorska Street,

- Admiralska Street,

- Wawelska Street - from Jarowita Street,

- Wały Chrobrego Street,

- Henryka Pobożnego Street in the section from Szczerbcowa Street to Zygmunta Starego Street

- Małopolska Street from the intersection with Jarowita Street

30 July (Friday) at 00.01 am:

- Władysława IV Street total closure from the intersection with Floriana Street. Entrance only for vehicles with passes,

- Jana z Kolna Street, narrowing of roadways and car parks. Traffic along Jana z Kolna Street will be kept to two lanes with a speed limit of 30 km/h,

- Zygmunta Starego Street - partial restrictions from Henryka Pobożnego Street to Jarowita Street. Entrance only for vehicles with passes,

- Zygmunta Starego Street - total closure from Jarowita Street to Wały Chrobrego Street,

- Zygmunta Starego Street from Starzyńskiego Street to Matejki Street - designating TAXI stops

- Szczerbcowa Street - partial restrictions from Henryka Pobożnego Street to Wały Chrobrego Street. Entrance only for vehicles with passes.

- Szczerbcowa Street - total closure from Jarowita Street to Wały Chrobrego Street,

- Henryka Pobożnego Street in the section from Wawelska Street to Szczerbcowa Street - one-way traffic,

- Jarowita Street - partial restrictions in the section from Wawelska Street to Małopolska Street. Entrance only for vehicles with passes

2 August (Monday) at 05.00 closure of:

- Wendy Street and Zbożowa Street from the intersection with Spichrzowa Street,

- Komandorska Street,

- Admiralska Street,

- Wawelska Street - from Jarowita Street,

- Wały Chrobrego Street,

- Henryka Pobożnego Street in the section from Szczerbcowa Street to Zygmunta Starego Street

- Małopolska Street from the intersection with Jarowita Street

- Storrady Street - entry will be restricted to vehicles with passes only.

On 3 August (Tuesday) at 05.00 there will be a return to the permanent traffic organisation.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

We encourage everyone to leave their cars at the car parks and use public transport. Apart from the car park in Turkusowa Street and the P&R in Hangarowa Street, an additional one has been agreed for cars in the Selgros area (possibility of transferring to trams 7 and 8 from the Turkusowa loop)

Public transport will be increased for the duration of the event, with extra buses and trams in reserve. The courses of these vehicles will take place on the instructions of the Traffic Headquarters.

Additionally, a special stop will be prepared in the area of Łasztownia, which will be reached by additional evening courses of lines 75 81 and 835.

30 - 31 July

- Extension of tram lines 1, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12 until 1 am with frequency every 30 minutes

- Extension of the service of the following bus lines until 1 am with the following frequencies: lines 75 and 107 every 10 min, lines A and B every 20 min, line 835 every 15 min, lines 64, 68, 71, 73, 79, 81, 96, 102, C - every 30 min

- Introduction of additional bus line 865 on the route Turkusowa - Bukowe estate - Nad Rudzianką estate - Turkusowa from 11:19 pm to 1:37 am with frequency every 30 min.

- Rerouting of lines 61, 87 via Wyszyńskiego Street (Friday from 7:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am);

- Rerouting of line 835 through Wyszyńskiego Street (Friday and Saturday from 8 pm);

- Extra buses will dispatch after the concert on Saturday at the Netto Arena;

INFORMATION POINTS OF THE ROAD AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT AUTHORITY

In order to ensure the greatest possible safety for passengers and to help them get to the event site and home smoothly, from 30 July to 1 August from 4 pm until late at night temporary posts of Roads and Public Transport Authority employees will be activated. Dworzec Morski, Wały Chrobrego, Bulwar Piastowski, Hangarowa P&R (car park and stops), Jaśminowa ZUS, Energetyków, Wyszyńskiego, Plac Rodła - these are the places where you will be able to get information on the functioning of public transport during the event. More than 100 people will help, explain and additionally ensure safe movement in the area of transport hubs.

We kindly remind that in accordance with an agreement concluded with POLREGIO Sp. z o.o., on their trains heading to and from Szczecin Główny, within administrative borders of Szczecin city i.e. between Szczecin Główny, Szczecin Gumieńce, Szczecin Port Centralny, Szczecin Zdroje, Szczecin Dąbie, Szczecin Zdunowo, Szczecin Załom, Szczecin Podjuchy stations, all season tickets of Roads and Public Transport Authority as well as concessions and exemptions are accepted.
