Water attractions in Łasztownia (a river island in Szczecin)

Animations, interactive games, a relaxation zone and exhibits that defy the laws of physics – you will have an opportunity to enjoy these attractions on Łasztownia during the Sails (Żagle) 2021 event. The Żeglarski Szczecin (Sailing Szczecin) event at the Szczecin Water Supply and Sewage Company (ZWiK) and the Water Factory (Fabryka Wody) stand. You cannot miss it!

Animations for the youngest

Nothing is more fun for the little ones than games that engage all their senses. As part of the interactive playground, 10 devices will be waiting to teach and entertain at the same time - a hydraulic sandpit, a water catapult, a fishery, a memomat (in a difficult and an easy version), harbour cranes, a sunken treasure, a pipeline (small and large), a seal throw. The youngest visitors will also be entertained by animators dressed as pirates and sailors, who have prepared a water themed game.

Extraordinary exhibits

The exhibits that seem to defy the laws of physics will certainly be of interest to visitors. A 2-metre high tap with water flowing in a closed circuit will be set up. Thanks to an optical illusion, the observers will have the impression as if the water from the tap was flowing from... well, guess where from?

 

You will also see drops falling upwards. How is this possible? Well, thanks to the right lighting, the water apparently moves against gravity. Although antigravity does not yet exist, we can still trick our eyes, or rather our brain. After all, what we see depends on our head, not our eyes!

A bit of relaxation

Within the relaxation area, you can rest on deckchairs. There will be water feeders and bowls of water for pets. At the information stand, in turn, you will be able to find out something about the activities of the Szczecin Water Supply and Sewage Company (ZWiK)  and the Water Factory, which is being built on the site of the former Gontynka (bathing beach).

"Back to the Gontynka" Competition

While visiting the Water Factory tent at Łasztownia, you will have the opportunity to take part in a competition. All you need to do is bring along an old photo of the Gontynka. In return for the submitted photo, each participant will receive a voucher entitling them to enter the recreational swimming pool area of the Water Factory.

There are 1,000 Vouchers to be won. They can be used up to 3 months after the opening of the complex. Each photo will be scanned and has a chance to be included in a virtual album and in an exhibition at the Water Factory.

Where to find us

Three spherical tents, resembling a particle of water, will be erected at Łasztownia to promote the "Clean Oder in Szczecin" ("Czysta Odra w Szczecinie") project, co-financed by the European Union, and the Water Factory. The tents will be located on Gdynia Boulevard (Bulwar Gdyński) in the vicinity of the Ładoga restaurant, opposite the exit from the pontoon bridge.

 

The zone will be open to visitors on Friday from 16:00 to 20:00, on Saturday from 10:00 to 22:00 and on Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00.
