Track revolution. Rodła Square opens

Drivers travelling around the Szczecin city centre will breathe a sigh of relief this Friday – Rodła Square will be opened to traffic. However, this means that the next stage of works will be under way, bringing changes on the Wyzwolenia/Rayskiego/Malczewskiego junction.

Changes on the Rodła Square concern not just drivers The routes and stops of buses running around this neighbourhood will also change. Passengers should plan their journeys carefully and remember that the city centre is still a construction site.

TRAFFIC ORGANISATION FROM 1 JULY:

- Rodła Square will be opened for traffic in all directions

- Wyzwolenia Ave. will be fully opened (all lanes) from Żołnierza Square to Rodła Square

- Piłsudskiego Street between Rodła Square and Matejki Street will be opened

- Traffic light on the intersection of Rodła Square will be launched

- The target traffic organisation on Żołnierza Square, along Kwiatowa Ave., Niepodległości Ave. and Matejki Ave. will be introduced

- The level crossing on the intersection of Wyzwolenia – Rayskiego – Malczewskiego Streets will be closed and traffic lights will be disabled

- Construction work on the right lane and the adjoining pavement along Piłsudskiego Street near the Pazim and ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) buildings will continue

- Roosevelta Street will remain closed

- On the section between Malczewskiego Street and the Giedroyc Roundabout and in the area of Niebuszewo the traffic organisation will remain as before

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

In connection with the reopening of road traffic in the area of Rodła Square, on 1 July 2022 (for night services from 1/2 July 2022), changes will be introduced in night bus services.

1. Bus services 58 and 59:

a. Towards the “Rodła Square” bus loop from the “Matejki” stop will run along Matejki Street, Hołdu Pruskiego Square, Żołnierza Polskiego Square, Wyzwolenia Ave. to the “Rodła Square” terminal stop (No. 11532) located along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Mazowiecka Street. The previous “Rodła Square” stop (No. 11537) will be removed. To compensate for this, the following stops will be opened: “Filharmonia” (No. 11410), located along Matejki Street before the junction with Mazowiecka Street and “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” (No. 11314) located along Wyzwolenia Ave. behind Żołnierza Polskiego Square.

b. Towards the „Gocław”, „Nehringa” and „Studzienna” bus loops from the first stop “Rodła Square” (No. 11532) will run along Piłsudskiego Street, Matejki Street, to the “Matejki” stop and further without changes. The “Filharmonia” stop (No. 11412) will be removed.

2. Bus service 68:

a. Towards the “Rodła Square” bus loop from the “Matejki” stop will run along Matejki Street, Piłsudskiego Street, turning back on Rodła Square to the “Rodła Square” terminal stop (No. 11526) located along Piłsudskiego Street behind the junction with Roosevelta Street. The previous “Rodła Square” stop (No. 11543) will be removed.

b. Towards the “Świergotka” and “Rostocka” bus loops from the first stop “Rodła Square” (No. 11526) will run along Piłsudskiego Street, Matejki Street, to the “Matejki” stop and further without changes. The previous “Malczewskiego” stop (No. 13011) will be removed.

3. Bus service 70 from the “Rodła Square” stop will run along Piłsudskiego Street, Matejki Street, Hołdu Pruskiego Square, Małopolska Street, to “Starzyńskiego” stop and further without changes. The “Plac Kościuszki” stop (No. 10413) located along Piastów Ave behind Kościouszki Square will be removed.

4. On service 86 the terminal stop will be “Rodła Square” (No. 11535) located along Wyzwolenia Ave. behind Rodła Square (towards the Port Gate). The previous “Rodła Square” terminal stop (No. 11541) will be an intermediate stop for the direction towards Rodła Square.

5. Bus service 90 from the “Jarowita” stop will run along Małopolska Street, Hołdu Pruskiego Square, Matejki Street, and Piłsudski Street to the “Grunwaldzki Square” stop and further without change. The previous stops “Lotników Square” (No. 17831) and “Kościuszki Square” (No. 10411) located next to the KFC restaurant will be removed. The “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11543), located along Piłsudskiego Street behind Rodła Square (towards Grunwaldzki Square) will be opened.

6. Bus service 101 will run along the Police Jasienica Pętla – Żołnierza Polskiego Square route:

a. Towards the “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” bus loop from the “Matejki” stop will run along Matejki Street, Hołdu Pruskiego Square, Żołnierza Polskiego Square, Wyzwolenia Ave. to the “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” terminal stop (No. 11313) located along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Małopolska Street. The previous “Rodła Square” stop (No. 11544) will be removed. The “Filharmonia” stop (No. 11410), located along Matejki Street before the junction with Mazowiecka Street, will be opened instead.

b. Towards the “Police Jasienica Pętla” bus loop from the first stop “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” (No. 11313) buses will run along Wyzwolenia Avenue, Malczewskiego Street, to “Malczewskiego” stop and further without change. The “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11531), located along Wyzwolenia Ave behind the junction with Mazowiecka Street (towards Niebuszewo) will additionally be opened. In addition, the “Malczewskiego” stop will change its name to “Rayskiego” and the number will change from 13011 to 12921.

7. Bus service 107:

a. Towards the “Rodła Square” bus loop from the “Matejki” stop will run along Matejki Street, Piłsudskiego Street, turning back on Rodła Square to the “Rodła Square” terminal stop (No. 11525) located along Piłsudskiego Street before the junction with Roosevelta Street (at the level of KFC restaurant). The previous “Rodła Square” stop (No. 11544) will be removed.

b. Towards the “Police Wyszyńskiego Polana” bus loop from the first stop “Rodła Square” (No. 11525) buses will run along Piłsudskiego Street, Matejki Street, to the “Matejki” stop and further without changes. The previous “Malczewskiego” stop (No. 13011) will be removed.

8. Bus service 806 will run along the extended route Pomorzany Dobrzyńska – Niemcewicza:

a. Towards the “Niemcewicza” bus loop to the “Port Gate” bus stop, the route will run as before. From the “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” stop (No. 11314) to the “Niemcewicza” bus loop, buses will run along the 812 service route. The previous bus stop “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” (No. 11330) located along Niepodległości Ave before Żołnierza Polskiego Square will be removed.

b. Towards the “Pomorzany Dobrzyńska” bus looop from the “Niemcewicza” bus loop to the “Rayskiego” stop, buses will run along the service 812 route. Subsequent bus stops will be: “Plac Rodła” (No. 11535), located along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Mazowiecka Street and “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” (No. 11311) located along Wyzwolenia Avenue Ave before Żołnierza Polskiego Square. The previous bus stop “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” (No. 11333) located along Niepodległości Ave behind Żołnierza Polskiego Square (at the entrance to “Kaskada”).

The service frequency will not change.

9. Service 812:

a. The “Plac Rodła” terminal stop (No. 11537), will be located along Wyzwolenia Ave behind the junction with Mazowiecka Street (towards the Port Gate). The previous “Rodła Square” stop (No. 11510) will be removed.

b. Towards the “Niemcewicza” bus loop from the first stop “Rodła Square” (No. 11537) buses will run along Wyzwolenia Ave., turning back on Żołnierza Polskiego Square, Wyzwolenia Ave. to “Rayskiego” stop and further without change. The following stops will be opened: “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” (No. 11314) located along Wyzwolenia Ave. behind Żołnierza Polskiego Square and “Rodła Square” (No. 11331), located along Wyzwolenia Ave behind the junction with Mazowiecka Street.

Buses will run with the following frequency:

a. on weekdays: every 4–8 minutes during the peak hours, every 12 minutes outside the peak hours, every 20 minutes after 8 p.m.;

b. on Saturdays: every 12 minutes between  9 a.m. and 6 p.m., every 20 minut at other times;

c. on Sundays and holidays: every 20 minutes.
10. Service B between “Port Gate” and “Rayskiego” bus stops in both directions will run along the regular route through Rodła Square. The “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” (No. 11330) and “Matejski” (No. 13112) stops will be removed. The following bus stops towards the “Osiedle Arkońskie” bus loop will be opened: “Plac Rodła” (No. 11531), located along Wyzwolenia Ave behind the junction with Mazowiecka Street and “Rayskiego” (No. 12914) located along Wyzwolenia Ave behind the junction with Malczewskiego Street

11. The Osiedle Kasztanowe – Rodła Squaret route will be restored on service C. Running towards the “Osiedle Kasztanowe” bus loop, buses will turn back on Rodła Square. The “Plac Rodła” terminal stop (No. 11532), will be located along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Mazowiecka Street. The “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” (No. 11313) will be removed. In addition, towards the “Osiedle Kasztanowe” bus loop, the “Rodła Square” stop (No. 11535), will be opened along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Mazowiecka Street (near “Lot”).

12. Services 522 and 532 between “Port Gate” and “Rayskiego” bus stops in both directions will run along the regular route through Rodła Square. The “Filharmonia” stop (No. 11412) will be removed. The “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11532), located along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Mazowiecka Street (towards Niebuszewo) will be opened.

13. Service 523 between “Grunwaldzki Square” and “Rayskiego” bus stops in both directions will run along the regular route through Rodła Square. “Rodła Square” stop (No. 11541) towards the “Zajezdnia Golęcin” bus loop will be located along Piłsudskiego Street by the building of the Marshal’s Office of the Westpomeranian Region. The previous service along the route Grunwaldzki Square – Zajezdnia Golęcin will run along the Rodła Square – Zajezdnia Golęcin route.

14. Service 524 between “Grunwaldzki Square” and “Matejki” bus stops in both directions will run along the regular route through Rodła Square and Matejki Street. The “Rodła Square” stop (No. 11526) towards Police will be located along Piłsudskiego Street behind the junction with Roosevelta Street.

15. Service 525 towards the “Zajezdnia Golęcin” bus loop between the “Rayskiego” and “Matejki” stops will run along the regular route through Rodła Square and Matejki Street. The “Matejki” stop (No. 13141), located along Malczewskiego Street, will be removed. To compensate for this, the following stops will be opened: “Rodła Square” (No. 11526), located along Piłsudskiego Street behind the junction with Roosevelta Street and “Matejki” (No. 13131), located along Matejki Street before the junction with Malczewskiego Street.

16. On service 529 the Krzekowo/Jaworowa – Rodła Square route will be reintroduced. Towards the “Krzekowo” and “Jaworowa” bus loops, buses will reverse on Rodła Square. The “Rodła Square” terminal stop (No. 11532) will be located along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Mazowiecka Street. The “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” (No. 11313) located along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Małopolska Street will be removed In addition, towards the “Krzekowo” and “Jaworowa” bus loops the following stops will be opened: “Rodła Square” (No. 11535) located along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Mazowiecka Street (near “Lot”) and “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” (No. 11311) Wyzwolenia Ave before Żołnierza Polskiego Square.

17. Bus service 530 will run along the Podbórz – Rodła Square route.

a. Towards the “Rodła Square” bus loop from the “Rayskiego” bus stop will run along Wyzwolenia Ave. and Rodła Square to the “Rodła Square” terminal stop (No. 11525) located along Piłsudskiego Street before the junction with Roosevelta Street (at the level of the KFC restaurant). The following previous stops will be removed: “Rodła Square” (No. 11535), “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” (No. 11311) i “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” (No. 11313).

b. Towards the “Podbórz” bus loop from the first stop “Rodła Square” will run along Matejki Street, Malczewskiego Street to the “Rayskiego” stop and further without change. The “Filharmonia” stop (No. 11412) will be removed.

18. Bus service 531 between “Grunwaldzki Square” and “Żołnierza Polskiego Square” in both directions will run along the permanent route through Rodła Square. Towards the “Krzekowo” bus loop, the “Lotników Square” stop (No. 17831) will be removed. Instead, the “Rodła Square” stop (No. 11532) located along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Mazowiecka Street will be opened.

19. The “Kołłątaja” temporary stop (No. 12720), located along Staszica Street under the overpass (towards the Giedroycia Roundabout) will be removed. Bus services 53, 60, 67, 87, B, 522, 523, 525 and 532 will stop at the lay-by stop (No. 12721).
