Things you shouldn’t do in parks

The City Councillors adopted the Rules and Regulation for using green areas proposed by the City, which clearly stipulate what is and what is not allowed in Szczecin’s parks.

What is not allowed by the new Rules?

First of all, no vehicles can enter green areas without the permission of the governing body. The Rules and Regulations will help the Municipal Guard and Police more effectively prevent driving over and damaging parks.

The ban on vehicles does not include:

      - scooters,

      - electric scooters,

      - personal transporters,

      - micromobility devices,

      - marked vehicles of public services and landscaping companies.

“You are not allowed to put up boards and advertisements, trade, provide services and promote products in our parks and green areas without the governing body’s approval,“ said Paulina Łątka w from the City Information Centre. “Using open fire and grills outside the areas designated by the governing body, disturbing peace and compromising the safety of others, bathing in the fountains and other water bodies, using pyrotechnics and explosives as well as other chemical substances are some of the forbidden activities. At the same time, when using parks we are required to respect the equipment, the resident animals, and above all – the green spaces."

      We should also:

      - comply with the signs and information boards,

      - observe the principles of social coexistence and maintain public order and cleanliness.

The green areas are also subject to the same limitations and bans as other public spaces, as stipulated by the law, in particular by the Code of Petty Offences, the Act on Upbringing in Sobriety and the Act on Protection of Health Against the Effects of Use of Tobacco and Tobacco Products, as well as local regulations.

The Rules and Regulations will enter into force 14 days of the date of their announcement in the Official Journal of the Westpomeranian Region.
