      The works on Wyszyńskiego street

      The works conducted on Wyszyńskiego street are at an advanced stage. The progress is visible every day. The drivers has already grown used to the temporary change in traffic organization and there aren’t any dangerous situation occurring on the crossing.

      The contractor continues the demolition and drainage works and the works connected with foundations for transmission poles. They began the building of trenching and foundations as well as the demolition of track ways at Wyszyńskiego street. The ground mats are being laid down and the concrete slab works are conducted at the crossing of Wyszyńskiego street and Nadbrzeże Wieleckie. In the nearest future the planned works include, among others, the creation of foundations in classic track ways, concrete slabs in level crossing in Mała Odrzańska under precast slabs and the preparation of asphalt concrete layer under the precast slabs. In addition, trenching and foundation works are continued at the crossing of Wyszyńskiego street and Nadbrzeże Wieleckie in the scope of track ways and roads as well as laying and wielding of  rail track crossing and a single double-track switch.

      The task

      The task is aimed at adjusting the existing communication system to current standards. Following the reconstruction the tram passengers will  be offered a comfortable and environment-friendly public mean of transport which will compete with the means of individual transport. The reconstruction of Wyszyński junction includes: the restructuring of tramway and infrastructure, street lightening and partial underground installation. The changes will also be visible for people who use municipal transport services as new bus stops and platforms are being built. The works will also be conducted on roadways, pavements and cycling path. The buried networks will be reconstructed and new elements will appear in the tramway infrastructure such as track switch control and heating and the system of greasers. The track way along the Nadbrzeże Wieleckie will run on the same line. A two-way bus and tramway line was designed at Wyszyńskiego street. The track way, in turn, will see the occurrence of the additional two-way tramway on the route from Wyszyńskiego street to Stocznia Szczecińska. The length of track ways equals almost 1150 metres of a single track.

      The works on Wyszyńskiego and Szarych Szeregów junctions are conducted by ZUE S.A. and their cost amounts at 44,894,559.07. The task is implemented under the project entitled “the reconstruction of tramways in Szczecin – stage II” (the grant agreement No POIS.06.01.00-00-016/16-00) as part of measure 6.1 The development of public transport in cities, the priority axis VI The development of low-emission transport in cities of the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme.
