The Szczecin Christmas Market will soon appear in the streets!

Great news! A little different, but just as festive. The Szczecin Christmas Market will soon appear in the streets including stands filled with Christmas items.

We will do our Christmas shopping not only on-line, but also at the Szczecin Christmas Market.

There will be two squares instead of three – the Adamowicza Square and the Lotników Square. Wooden huts will appear in these squares between 9^th and 20^th December, housing local Szczecin business owners and their products. This year’s Christmas Market, apart from the Szczecin Christmas Fair online, is another form of assistance for local companies.

“Approximately 40 wooden huts will be provided at the two squares for craftsmen and caterers from Szczecin. They will be offering their products before Christmas”, said Celina Wołosz, spokesperson of Żegluga Szczecińska Tourism Events. “The stands will be provided to merchants free of charge. The only cost they will bear is the flat-rate electricity fee”.

Organisation costs will be covered by the City of Szczecin and the partners of the event. Due to the limited number of stands, the participants will be selected on a first come, first served basis.

“Importantly, our smaller Christmas Market will only serve as a bazaar” remarked Celina Wołosz.  “This means that all food products will be packed as take-away, and there will be no tables or eating places located within the area. Decorations and music will ensure festive atmosphere. This year, due to the pandemic, we will not be organising meetings with Santa Claus, workshops or animations. This restriction significantly reduces the risk of the spread of the virus. In addition, disinfectants and disposable gloves will be provided to the visitors both at the Adamowicza Square and the Lotników Square. We should also remember to maintain social distance while shopping and to keep our face masks on”.
