The Municipal Police has never held a passenger like that in their car

It all started with a call from a resident received by officers on duty a few minutes after 10 a.m.

The person who called the 986 emergency number reported that a swan was strolling between cars on Owocowa Street, causing a road traffic hazard. The Municipal Police officers went to the site and found a magnificent swan strolling along the street.

“It must have felt the foretaste of the coming spring and decided to take a walk to the city,” said Senior Inspector Joanna Wojtach, Spokesperson of the Szczecin Municipal Police. “Unfortunately, the officers showed no sympathy for this royal bird and were forced to stop its walk along the road by the station. The swan turned out to be highly disciplined: showed no aggression or resistance, and obediently took a seat in the 2nd class passenger compartment in the Municipal Police car.

The municipal animal catcher assessed the bird's condition as good, not requiring veterinary doctor's assistance, and together with the Municipal Police officers they drove the bird to the Zieliny channel on Heyki Street. There the swan was returned to the nature and the beautiful female swan waiting for her partner's return.
