The redeveloped complex at the Dąbie bathing beach will be opened between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. It is a response to residents’ requests flooding the Municipal Service Enterprise.
The Municipal Service Enterprise received a lot of requests concerning the extension of opening hours of the area surrounding the Dąbie bathing beach. Following reconstruction works, the area has become greatly popular. It should not come a surprise, as everything there is new - the area has a new landscape design, it is fences and covered by a CCTV system.
“We redeveloped this facility for the residents, so I need to respond to their requests,” said Tomasz Wawrzyńczak, Director of the Municipal Service Enterprise. “I am pleased that the complex has aroused huge interest. I go there nearly every day, and I can see crowds of visitors. You can watch spectacular sunsets from Dąbie. Now everyone will be able to admire this view. I decided to extend the opening time by two hours, until 8:00 p.m.”
Let us remind you that the redeveloped complex at the Dąbie bathing beach was opened last week. The construction works with a total value of PLN 9.5m were completed at the end of August.
The area adjacent to the Dąbie lake has undergone considerable transformation. You can watch a video showing the redevelopment process here.
Only a name was left of the old bathing beach area. We have a completely new administration and community building, where, for example, toilets can be found. A sewer service line was provided to the building (there was previously only a septic tank). There are new electricity and water supply networks. The entire area is guarded not only by security staff, but also with the use of a CCTV system. Cameras are placed in various locations near the bathing beach. The boundaries of the facility are marked by a totally new fence.
“We can see game tables near the buildings, there are also deckchairs and garden houses where you can hide from the rain,” said Andrzej Kus, City Spokesman for Municipal Services and Environmental Protection Affairs. “In the summer they will serve as shelter from the sun. The complex area is covered by rolled grass. There are numerous trees, shrubs and attractions for the youngest visitors: An enormous huge ship “moored” here. There is also a playground for young children and a rope pyramid. An open-air gym was also a must.”
A barbecue spot was located a bit further away. We can find it in an area which is situated in the greatest distance from the beach - barbecue enthusiasts will not cause any nuisance to other visitors.
As we enter, we can walk along a totally new well-lit alley. The view here is unique, as looking at the far end of the alley in the evening, we can admire picturesque sunsets on the Dąbie lake. Benches and bins were placed along the alley. There is also a drinking fountain, and we can find more of these in further parts of the complex. The alley branches in two directions, one of them leading to a paved square which will serve, i.a., to organise various events.
