The City is full of colour – the Szczecin Illuminations

In this summer evening, Szczecin lights up with dozens of colours and makes a walk along the city streets turn into a colourful journey full of unique sights. The Szczecin Illuminations will be launched on 13 August.

We are facing another edition of Szczecin's festival of colour, in which colour and light are central. The buildings known from the permanent illuminations will be joined by additional light installations along the route of the walk, which will stir the imagination of the participants and take them into a completely different world. Szczecin Illuminations is also a different perspective on urban space, which accompanies us every day. With the new lighting, the places we pass every day will gain different appearance and meaning.

It is best to start the walk along the route of Szczecin illuminations from the fountain on Chrobry's Embankments.

„Passing by the illuminated Łasztownia, through the Old Town, we will reach TRAFO Trafostacja Sztuki, where the first surprise will be ready waiting,” says Celina Wołosz, the spokesperson for the Szczecińska Żegluga Turystyka Wydarzenia company. “Heading towards the fountain at Zwycięstwa Square, we will pass the illuminated St. Jacob's Cathedral and the Portowa Gate. From there, it will be worthwhile to make our way to Bogusława pedestrian zone, which will be arranged anew, and the unique scenery will change the passage in the city centre beyond recognition.”

The route of the walk will also include Orła Białego Square, whose arrangement of the Pod Globusem Palace will surely keep us there for longer. We should not forget about the Pomeranian Dukes Castle where, apart from the traditional illumination, the exceptionally illuminated the Small Courtyard will be waiting for us. Passing by the Philharmonic Hall of Szczecin, the Orthodox St. Nicolas Church in Szczecin and the Adam Mickiewicz Monument we will reach the final place, which is the Stefan Żeromski Park, where illuminated trees and alleys will take us to another world full of positive colours and music. The central square will host a stage, chill out zone, craft beer zone and food trucks.

We invite you on August 13 at 21:00 to the Stefan Żeromski Park for the grand finale of the Illuminations. And all news will be available in the Szczecin Illuminations 2021 event.
