Szczecin: More money for green areas

The city will allocate an additional PLN 1.2 million to raise the standards of maintenance and conservation of green areas in representative zones.
Greening will cover the most representative places in the centre of Szczecin. It is planned to fill all the city flower beds, including Tobrucki Square and at the Royal Gate. Flower towers will return to the city, and new perennials will be planted in flower beds.
The introduction of the so-called mobile greenery in the form of pots with plants, located in representative places and in the Śródmieście district, which is less abundant in vegetation.
“The entire representative zone will be treated with the highest quality care, in accordance with the adopted Standards for the maintenance and protection of green areas, and the frequency of mowing lawns and removing weeds from flower beds will be increased,” says Paulina Łątka from the City Information Centre. Additional money – PLN 120 thousand for examining the health condition of trees has also been provided.
