Substantial changes on tram lines in the coming days

The test drives on Szarych Szeregów Square were completed successfully on Thursday. There are no obstacles preventing the return of trams to their regular routes running through this node. Furthermore, we are introducing changes on lines 1 and 9 as of 1 August. 

Following the completion of reconstruction works on tracks in the area of Szarych Szeregów Sq., starting from Saturday 25 July (for night lines, from the night hours of 25/26 July) the tram traffic will be returned along Piastów Ave., from Jagiellońska St. to Szarych Szeregów Sq., together with road traffic along Piastów Ave. CITY PUBLIC TRANSPORT 

• Line 3 will be operated according to a new timetable, with every second journey extended from Lasek Arkońki to Pogodno Depot. The following stops are scheduled for the extended route: to Pogodno Depot „Las Arkoński” (request stop) (35611), „Stadion Arkonia” (request stop) (35511), „Międzyparkowa” (request stop) (37411), „Rondo Olszewskiego” (31321), „Zajezdnia Pogodno” (31217), to Pomorzany: „Rondo Olszewskiego” (31331), „Międzyparkowa” (request stop) (37412), „Stadion Arkonia” (request stop) (35512), „Las Arkoński” (request stop) (35612 – a pass-through stop, outside the loop).
• Regular routes were reinstated for lines 5 and 11.
• Timetables for working days and holidays will be adjusted for line 7.
• As regards line 12, the regular route will be returned and the existing timetables will be adjusted.
• As regards line 87 towards “Dworzec Główny (Owocowa)” loop, the regular route will be returned, running through Wojska Polskiego Ave. and “Plac Szarych Szeregów” stop (11722). At the same time, “Piastów” stop (11811) will be liquidated. The route of line 87 through Felczaka (from Wyzwolenia Ave. to Wojska Polskiego Ave.) will be retained permanently (in both directions).
• Buses of lines 523 and 524, going to Przecław, Cukrowa and Pomorzany will again stop for passengers at the “Piastów” stop located in the area of tram tracks (11812).
• On line 531 towards Osiedle Bukowe, the  permanent route along Piłsudskiego St. will be reinstated.
• Buses of lines 523, 524 and 531 going in both directions will stop for passengers at “Plac Szarych Szeregów” stops located along tram track area (11712 and 11713). Bus stops located along streets (no. 11711 and 11714) will be liquidated.

CHANGES TO  THE TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENT The entire circular path of the roundabout will be made available to drivers. In addition, permanent changes will be introduces in the area of Jagiellońska St. and Bohaterów Warszawy St. Due to renovation works on Szarych Szeregów Square, some tram lines were directed to alternative routes, i.a., along Jagiellońska St. and Bohaterów Warszawy St. Bearing in mind the delays of trams in the section of Jagiellońska St. between Piastów Ave. and Bohaterów Warszawy Ave,  a change was proposed on Jagiellońska St. entries in relation to the change of traffic directions in individual lanes. On the entry to Jagiellońska St., from Piastów Ave., drivers moving in the direction of Witkiewicza St. have the right lane at their disposal, consistent with the right-turn direction, while it is only possible to turn left from the left lane in the direction of Krzywoustego St. The entry to Jagiellońska st. from Witkiewicza St. has the following lane layout - the right lane for turning right, the left lane for going straight and turning left. Such layout is currently a temporary arrangement, but after the works are completed its status will be changed to permanent traffic arrangement. 

CHANGES ON LINES 1 AND 9

In relation to moving to the next stage of reconstructing the Głębokie transport interchange, as of 1 August the tram traffic covering lines 1 and 9 will be suspended along the section from Rondo Olszewskiego to Głębokie. The following changes to public transport operations are due to be introduced: 

• Trams of lines 1 and 9 will run along their regular routes from “Potulicka” loop to “Rondo Olszewskiego” stop, from where they will be directed through Arkońska St. to “Las Arkoński” loop. The trams will run according to a special timetable without any changes to journey frequency, which means that the departure times will be retained on the permanent part of the route.
• A substitute bus line no. 809 will be launched along the route Rondo Olszewskiego – Wojska Polskiego Ave. – Zegadłowicza – Głębokie Kąpieliskowa. The route will include the following new stops: Rondo Olszewskiego (31311), Tor Kolarski (request stops) (31411, 31412), Goplana (request stops) ( 31511, 31512), Kasyno (request stops) (31611, 31612), Głębokie (31731, 31732) – stops on the south side of the junction, and Głębokie Kąpieliskowa (39711) - a stop on the street running parallel to Zegadłowicza St., between Majowa and Kąpieliskowa St.

The buses will run with the following frequency on working days: during the peak hours every six minutes, between peak hours and between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. every 12 minutes, after 8:00 p.m. every 20 minutes, on Saturdays until 9 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. every 20 minutes, during the remaining time every 12 minutes, on Sundays and holidays (temporarily subject to timetable for New Year, Easter and Christmas), until 11:00 a.m. and after 6:00 pm. every 24 minutes, and during the remaining times every 20 minutes. Passengers who have travel cards for a single line, covering lines 1 or 9, are entitled to travel by a given tram along the changed route and any other lines running along sections covering the regular or changed route of a given line, as well as the substitute 809 line along the entire route.
