Scandinavian Days 2021 are Coming Soon

Marta Kufel

The inauguration of the next edition of Scandinavian Days is only a fortnight away. Due to the pandemic, the event will take the safe form of videoconferences and online events online. The programme includes: the opening of the Scandinavian House, webinars on ecology and business, as well as film shows, exhibitions and concerts.
Scandinavian House
6 Monte Casino Street – this is where the Scandinavian House – the Scandinavian Meeting Point Szczecin will be located, to be launched during the Scandinavian Days. It will become a centre for developing creativity and a place for discussions about the future. Developed by the Swedish brand IKEA under the name “Home of Tomorrow”, the space will receive a new signboard. The Scandinavian House will embrace a zero waste philosophy, hold interdisciplinary workshops and training sessions, and undertake multicultural social initiatives. Now, this unique project will be run by the Szczecin Municipality and the municipal company – Szczecińskie Towarzystwo Budownictwa Społecznego (the Szczecin Social Housing Association).
What else on the programme?
First and foremost, we focus on discussions among experts. We will learn the details of ecological solutions in business, how Scandinavian business creates green transformation values in Poland and, finally, the practical side of doing business the “Scandinavian way”. All these subjects will be addressed during open webinars. Moreover, a series of cultural and accompanying events will be held.

Background
Szczecin serves as an important port and logistics hub for our neighbours to the north. Well-connected by ferry and air with Scandinavia, we are literally at everyone's fingertips. This is appreciated not only by tourists but also by entrepreneurs, as many companies operating here are of Scandinavian capital. Our cooperation goes back a long time and is getting closer. We share openness to innovation and development, as well as an awareness of the importance of ecology in everyday life. Szczecin is therefore the natural environment for Scandinavian Days.
