SBO 2022: 158 ideas for Szczecin!
Marta Kufel

Only this year, via the Internet, residents submitted 158 projects (24 city-wide, 134 local) as part of Szczecin’s Civic Budget.
The figure is not exhaustive; applications submitted on paper and by post will still enter the pool (the date of submission is determined by the postmark).
“The first stage of SBO 2022 is now over and the second phase has already been implemented during the coronavirus pandemic,” comments Magdalena Błaszczyk, Director of the Office of Civil Dialogue. “We would like to thank all residents who submitted their projects despite unfavourable circumstances and limited opportunities. As every year, we will endeavour to ensure that as many projects as possible are positively verified and placed on the voting list.”
The applications have been submitted to the Office for Civic Dialogue for formal review. The projects will be published on the sbo.szczecin.eu website after formal verification (STAGE I), where every resident of our city will be able to learn about them. Those projects which successfully pass formal verification will be reviewed in terms of the possibility of their implementation (substantive verification - STAGE II). The projects which undergo the entire procedure and are approved by the Evaluation Team (STAGE III) will be included on the voting list. Residents will then select the best ones later this year.
Please note. This year’s pool for Szczecin Civic Budget projects amounts to PLN 16 700 000.
The projects may be:
- city-wide - those which can be benefited by residents of more than one city district, to which 30% of the funds have been allocated,
- local - to which 70% of the funds have been allocated.
The allocation of funds was distributed to 22 local sites based on the population of each site and its area.
