Marta Kufel

Construction works on the modernised Pomeranian Overpass have been going on for several days. Preparatory work is currently underway to reinforce the structure.
On the upper part of the overpass, works on the new drainage of the facility are being carried out as well as preparatory works for reinforcing the structure. Reinforcement tapes are being applied and old expansion joints are being removed.
In the lower part of the overpass, insulation of the foundation slabs of the structure’s pillars and anti-corrosion insulation of the load-bearing structure are being performed.
Traffic disruptions
In connection with the planned commencement of works in the area of Księdza Michała Mostnika Street, temporary traffic organisation will be introduced in stages. The changes will consist in narrowing selected sections of the road and closing junction crossing. Drivers are kindly asked to pay attention and follow the relevant signposting. The changes in traffic organisation will take effect on November 30 this year.
About the investment
The most important part of this task will be the remodelling of the old tram and road overpass in the vicinity of Gdańska Street. The structure, which was built in the 1970s, is in poor technical condition. For safety reasons, a comprehensive renovation of the entire structure is necessary. As a result of the works, the load-bearing capacity of the facility will be increased to 40 tonnes. As part of the investment, the overpass over the railway siding, leading to Dolna Odra Power Station S.A. (Zespół Elektrowni Dolna Odra S.A.) will also be rebuilt. This structure was built before 1945 and rebuilt in the 1970s. For safety reasons, it also requires comprehensive repair works. In addition, works will cover the road system in the area of the Overpass. Both roadways of Gdańska Street and passages under the Overpass will be rebuilt. Sidewalks and cycle lanes will be introduced. Underground networks and utilities will be rebuilt.
The investment involves:
1. Remodelling of both lanes of ul. Gdańska in the area of the Pomeranian Overpass and the construction of new street connections in order to improve communication;
2. Construction of pedestrian, bicycle and cycle-pedestrian paths;
3. Renovation of level crossings running across ul. Gdańska (Gdańska Street);
4. Remodelling of collision underground and/or overground networks (power, sanitary, water supply, telecommunication networks);
5. Remodelling / construction of public exits;
6. Providing a drainage system through the reconstruction/construction of a rainwater drainage system with treatment devices;
7. Road marking;
8. Increasing the load capacity class of roads and streets;
9. Construction / reconstruction of street lighting;
10. Landscaping;
11. Raising the load capacity class by remodelling (strengthening) the structure of road and tram overpass.
