Drivers are kindly asked to stay sharp.
About the investment
The most important part of this task will be reconstruction of an old tram and road viaduct within the area of Gdańska Street. The structure, which was built in the 1970’s, is in a very bad technical condition. For safety reasons, a complex renovation of the whole structure is required. As a result of the works, the structure’s carrying capacity class will be upgraded to 40 tonnes. The investment also comprises reconstruction of the viaduct over the rail siding leading to Zespół Elektrowni Dolna Odra S.A. [the Complex of Power Plants Dolna Odra joint-stock company]. This structure was built before 1945 and reconstructed in the 1970’s. Its technical condition, for safety reasons, also requires complex repair works. The works will be also carried out on the road system within the Overpass area. Both carriageways of Gdańska Street and the passages under the Overpass will be reconstructed. Sidewalks and bicycle paths will be added. Underground installations and networks will be reconstructed, too.
Tasks planned under the investment:
- reconstruction of both carriageways of Gdańska Street within the Pomeranian Overpass and construction of new street connections to improve communication;
- construction of footpaths, bicycle paths and mixed paths – for both pedestrians and bicycles;
- renovation of level crossings with Gdańska Street;
- reconstruction of colliding underground and/or overground networks (power, sanitary, water supply, telecommunications networks);
- reconstruction/construction of public exits;
- provision of a drainage system through reconstruction/construction of storm water drainage with purifying facilities;
- road marking;
- upgrade of the carrying capacity of road and street pavements;
- construction/reconstruction of road lighting;
- management of the greenery;
- upgrade of the carrying capacity through reconstruction (enforcement) of the tram and road viaduct.
