      Mind the “animal shelter” scam!

Is someone knocking on your door and claims that they are raising funds for the Homeless Animal Shelter in Szczecin? Be cautious, because your money most probably will not reach the animals in need.

In recent days, Shelter employees had several calls from residents who  said that they had been visited by people claiming to be volunteers. The volunteers said that were collecting money for the animal shelter. The callers wanted to confirm the fund-raising campaign at source, because it was the first time they encountered such practice.

“Therefore we would like to inform everyone that the Homeless Animal Shelter in Szczecin is not running this type of fund-raising campaign in the city area,” said Paulina Łątka from the City Information Centre. “It does not cooperate with people raising funds to collection boxes”.

If you wish to help homeless dogs and cats, you can donate money directly to the bank account of the Homeless Animal Shelter in Szczecin: 20 1020 4795 0000 9302 0332 3599.

As for non-cash donations, we currently need natural plant cat litter and good quality (meat-rich) wet feed for kittens, adult cats and puppies. You can bring them to the Shelter at 1 Zwierzęcy Zakątek St., Monday to Saturday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4 p.m.
