Made in Szczecin Festival. Second Edition
Marta Kufel
A treat for enthusiasts of local products. This Sunday will see the second edition of the festival celebrating the “Made in Szczecin” brand. In addition to a showcase of recognised businesses, the Festival will provide guidance on the rules of granting the “Made in Szczecin” mark. Applications for this year’s edition are starting on 1 July.
The 2nd “Made in Szczecin” Festival will take place this Sunday, 23 June 2024, in OFF Marina at 18 Chmielewskiego Street. Like the first edition, this one will be organised together with the Szczecin Gourmet Bazaar.
“The event will be held in the side room on the first floor of OFF Marina. There, you will meet the local laureates of this esteemed award, showcasing their unique offerings catering to all tastes,” said Tomasz Klek, the Spokesman for the Szczecin Metropolitan Region Development Agency.
The upcoming edition will also promote the concept behind the “Made in Szczecin” brand. At the event, the Szczecin Metropolitan Region Development Agency – which coordinates the project – will provide information and formal guidance on the upcoming application process, due to start on 1 July.
In addition, the large room will host the Szczecin Gourmet Bazaar, offering delicious breakfast options and a large selection of fine local products.
“We will also have a couple of exciting extras at the Festival, including an exhibition showing pictures of last edition’s laureates, put together by Minifot Photographic Shop (last year’s laureate),” added Tomasz Klek. “The photographs will be put on display in Off Marina’s courtyard. The idea behind the exhibition was to depict the personalities of the laureates against the background of their businesses or products.”

The “Made in Szczecin” mark has been awarded since 2018. A total of 320 organisations have applied for it since, of which 120 were recognised and allowed to market their products using the mark. The brand may be granted to products and services of businesses, institutions and other organisations operating within the Szczecin Metropolitan Region, provided that these products and services have been available on the Szczecin market for at least a year before the application. “Made in Szczecin” is a brand of honour and as such does not entail any financial benefits or tax allowances.
However, what it does is allow organisations to take part in promotional campaigns organised by Szczecin and to feature the brand’s logo in their publicity materials. The Szczecin Metropolitan Region Development Agency has been coordinating the project on behalf of the City.
