Łękno Interchange - News from the construction site No. 24

Work progress on major road construction projects is best visible on aerial photos and videos. it is similar with the Łękno Interchange under construction. The scale of the project is visible from the air.
In recent days, works involving excavation to formation under the tram track bed were carried out, and on Zaleskiego St., in addition to paving works, assembly of storm drain system was being performed.
As regards the flyovers, concreting works and the reinforcement of strip footing for the supports were being carried out. The assembly of platform slabs was also continued.
About the project
The Łękno Interchange is one of the largest and most important road projects in this EU financial framework. The project includes the construction of a further section of the so called Średnicowa Route (from Arkońska and Niemierzyńska St. to Wojska Polskiego Avenue), the redevelopment of a rail line along the new carriageway, and the construction of a junction near Wojska Polskiego Avenue. In its final form, the interchange will serve the function of an interchange hub for the Szczecin Metropolitan Railway.
The total cost of the works is over PLN 137 million. The contractor is a consortium of companies. ROVER INFRAESTRUCTURAS S.A. and ROVERPOL SP. Z O.O.. The delivery of the project is supervised by the Urban Project Department of the City of Szczecin.
The project entitled “The construction of the Łękno integrated transport interchange with infrastructure along the Średnicowa Route serving passenger transport functions within the Szczecin agglomeration” received funding as part of Action 2.2 Sustainable multimodal urban mobility and adaptive measures mitigating climate change impact as part of the Strategy for Integrated Territorial Investment for the Szczecin Metropolitan Area. The funding amount is PLN 73 000 000.
The works within the rail sector were co-financed as part of project entitled “The Construction of the Szczecin Metropolitan Railway using the existing section of rail routes No. 406, 273, and 351” under Action 5.2 The development of rail transport outside the TEN-T, as part of the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme 2014-2020. The co-financing amount is PLN 12 832 309.
