Karate World Championships in September in Szczecin!

On 15-18 September 2022, the world’s top karate fighters will visit Szczecin. This is due to the WKA Karate World Championships, organised in Netto Arena.

Although there is still some time left to the event, local organisers (Bushikan Szczecin Karate Club) are working diligently to ensure that everything is ready as planned.

promotional film  on the event was recently made, presenting the beauty of the art of Karate in picturesque places in Szczecin (on Jasne Błonia, Grodzka Island, on the roof of Hanza Tower and at Głębokie Lake).

On 12-13 May 2022 there was also a visitation of the venues of the WKA World Championships - Szczecin 2022, which was carried out by the Secretary General of the WKA World Federation Chris Galea (Malta) and the Chairperson of the Organising Committee of the WKA World Championships 2022 Paweł Bombolewski. They visited, among others, the Official Hotels of the Championships and the “Netto Arena” Sports and Entertainment Hall, where the contract for the organisation of this prestigious event was concluded.

Once again, Szczecin has been awarded with the rights to organise such a significant event in Karate - Bushikan has already organised the World Championships in 2014 (1400 competitors from 34 countries, with the memorable participation of President Lech Wałęsa at the Opening Ceremony) and the World Cup 2020 (490 competitors from 12 countries, the only event of such scale in the West Pomeranian Province during the Covid-19 epidemic).

The partners of the event are the Szczecin City Hall, the Marshal’s Office of West Pomeranian Province and the Polish Karate Association.
