Going to Emerald Lake? This is what you need to know!

If you are planning to drive to Emerald Lake by car, you can expect some inconvenience. The car park in Kopalniana Street is closed until further notice. You may not drive there by car.
Kopalniana Street is now part of a major common-toad migration route. Toads can be encountered at roadsides and on the road.
“Just to remind you, this is a protected species that would be threatened by passing vehicles,” said Andrzej Kus, City Spokesman for Municipal and Environmental Protection Affairs. “Due to the massive migration of the common toad, Kopalniana Street, specifically its upper section, has been closed until further notice.” As a result, you will not be allowed to park by the lake. However, you may use the car park past the viaduct.
Please do not drive past the “closed road” sign. Even though the migrating toads are caught and moved to the lake several times a day, some of them might die under the wheels of cars. Safety nets have been set up at roadsides to prevent the amphibians from entering the road as much as possible.
