Explore Szczecin on foot, in a kayak or by bike
Szczecin is a unique place and the richness of its history may surprise not only tourists, but also its residents. Ahead of us there is another season of Cross-Border City Walks (Transgraniczne Spacery Miejskie), which will reveal the secrets of the mysterious Szczecin.
Have you ever wondered how many secrets your city hides, even when you have lived in it for years? Every day we unknowingly pass buildings, trails or places that have their own history. Thanks to the guided city walk, we can learn much more about this route, which will turn our daily commute to work into a unique journey through time.
The Cross-Border City Walks will return as early as in June, allowing you to explore the city in various ways – on foot, by bike or in a kayak. The walks will be held until the end of September, every summer weekend.
“By participating in them, you can learn a bit more about the culinary tastes of Szczecin's residents – both present and past, learn about chilling stories, find out which panorama will be the best background for a selfie or go kayaking around Szczecin's Venice,” said Celina Wołosz, spokesman for the Żegluga Szczecińska Turystyka Wydarzenia Compay (Szczecin Shipping Tourism Events).
There will also be something for two wheels enthusiasts – bike rides across the picturesque hilly area of the city’s northern districts, or discovering the Cmentarz Centralny (Central Cemetery) are just the beginning of what participants of bicycle trips can expect.
Cross-Border City Walks (Transgraniczne Spacery Miejskie) will be held in two languages - Polish and German and will take place during weekend mornings at 11:00, from June to the end of September.
