Coronavirus #93 - Swimming pools preparing to reopen

The Szczecin House of Sport (SDS) is preparing to reopen municipal swimming pools which have been closed for nearly three months due to the pandemic. The swimming pools are due to be opened on 20 June.

The Floating Arena pool and the 25-metre pool are currently being filled with water, as they have been empty for the last few weeks. A number of maintenance works were performed at the time (for example, the grout was supplemented and damaged tiles replaced). The facilities were also cleaned and disinfected.

Once the water is poured to the pools, it will need to be heated. Then it will be possible to collect test samples. The swimming pools will be available to the residents after the required parameters are reached. The whole process will take about two weeks.

Due to the recommendations of the Government and the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate on the operation of swimming pools, the number of swimmers will be limited  (maximum 4 persons on a single track). This means that maximum 40 swimmers will be able to use the Floating Arena simultaneously, while the 25-metre pool will accept a maximum of 24 swimmers.

NOTE! The validity period of unused swimming pool passes will be extended until 30 September.

The gym on site of the SDS will be opened on 6 June.
