Coronavirus #85 - Almost 35 million aid for the airport in Goleniów

The amount of PLN 34 288 000  the City of Szczecin will recapitalize the Szczecin-Goleniów Airport in years 2020-2028.

Only this year, assistance for the airport will amount to PLN 10 185 000. The amount was introduced to the draft of the budget changes, which the President introduces during the next session of the City Council on 26.05.2020. Assistance for the following years was designed in the Long-term Financial Forecast.

- We are aware that this amount will not solve all the problems of the airport - says Piotr Krzystek, Mayor of the city. - Only comprehensive actions and help from the government can stop the bankruptcy of the Goleniów airport.

In parallel with the activities of the local government and the decision to recapitalize the company, Mayor Krzystek together with the Marshal of the Voivodship and the Mayor of Goleniów signed a letter addressed to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, with a request, to take the necessary actions enabling the company to continue operating both in terms of launching current compensation and declared funds for investment aid.
