Coronavirus #76 – further kindergartens and nurseries are open

Further Szczecin nurseries and most kindergartens will resume their activities this Monday. First of all, children whose parents have no other option to provide them with day care due to the need to return to work are admitted to the institutions.

This Monday, the 18th of May, all Szczecin public kindergartens will resume their activities. The exceptions that will not open are the branch of Public Kindergarten No. 51 and the building of Public Kindergarten No. 72 operating at ul. Monte Cassino 31. Their pupils will be admitted to their home institutions. In addition, almost all pre-school departments operating in primary schools resume operations, except for SP No. 10, SP No. 13, SP No. 18, SP No. 24, SP No. 28, SP No. 39, SP No. 54 and SP No. 74. Most of these will not be open due to the lack of parents' registration or ongoing renovation works.

From next week, further public nurseries will resume their activities: Nursery No. 5 (ul. Kazimierza Królewicza 61) and Nursery No. 9 (ul. Koszykowa 19). In addition, children attending the groups created under the Regional Operational Program of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship (Nursery No. 2, Nursery No. 3, Nursery No. 5, Nursery No. 6 and Nursery No. 7) will also be able to attend them.

According to the adopted schedule, it is planned that next Szczecin public nurseries will resume their activities on the 25th of May 2020.

The opening of such facilities requires proper preparation and implementation of the highest precautions so as to ensure maximum safety not only of the youngest residents of Szczecin, but also their families and employees of the institutions. Among others, special procedures for the admission of children to nurseries and kindergartens were developed, also, food-related rules and the limitation of the number of toys available introduced. In addition, the institutions were equipped with the necessary personal protective kits and appropriate devices to control the health of people staying there (contactless thermometers).

According to ministerial recommendations, children of health care system employees, uniformed services, persons performing tasks related to preventing and combating coronavirus, as well as trade and production employees will have priority of admission. Government guidelines also precisely determine the size of individual groups. A maximum of 12 children will be allowed in each of them. Unfortunately, this means that the provided number of care for children may not be sufficient. It all depends on how many parents will apply.
