Coronavirus #64– Expert team for crisis

Well-known Szczecin economists, practicians, entrepreneurs and scientists will join the team which, together with the City, will work out a plan for overcoming the crisis and returning to sustainable development of the city.
The team's goal is to create a plan with at least a two-year time horizon, present a map of activities that will enable other entities to plan their work in the field related to city initiatives, as well as take into account the current situation and its effects in long-term programming of the city development. The team's coordinator is Daniel Wacinkiewicz, deputy mayor of the city.
- The current situation related to the coronavirus pandemic requires broad and decisive actions in various areas of the city's functioning - says Daniel Wacinkiewicz. – Our work is currently taking place in two directions, on one hand we are constantly implementing ongoing activities such as reliefs for entrepreneurs or cooperation with NGOs, on the other hand, we are preparing a broad plan of further work. We want it to be a consulted, discussed and supplemented catalogue with suggestions and ideas from external experts.
The team consists of:
- Prof. Aneta Zelek Ph.D., Rector of the West Pomeranian Business School,
- Magdalena Zioło Ph.D. – Assistant Professor at University of Szczecin (Institute of Finance, Department of Finance) and Executive Board Member of Polish Economic Society, Szczecin branch,
- Katarzyna Opiekulska – Managing Director LSJ HR Group,
- Kamil Pilarski – Chairman of the Economic Council, a representative of ABSL,
- Jacek Wiśniewski - Chief Executive Officer of EuroAfrica Shipping Lines
The plan creates a framework for activities in designated key areas:
- health system
- an exchange of information
- help for particularly affected industries
- business restart
- tax relief
- constant development
The first expert team meeting will take place this week.
