A Vaccination Centre on site of a gym of the University of Szczecin, at 7 Sowińskiego St. is ready. The staff which will be working there has been recruited. We are only waiting for the authorisation of the Westpomeranian Region Governor and the vaccines.
The rapid pace of construction works
“We have safe waiting rooms, registration desks, full technical support, and, most importantly, qualified staff. We are reporting our readiness for vaccinations and for establishing vaccination centres in new locations,” said Piotr Krzystek, Mayor of Szczecin
The Centre at Sowińskiego St. is to be open 7 days a week, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Specialists from the Szczecin Health Centre (Szczecińskie Centrum Zdrowia).
“We have gained experience at the Netto Arena, and we know that we are able to administer between 800 and 100 vaccines a day. Irrespective whether it is a working day, weekend or a public holiday,” announced Prof. Beata Karakiewicz, Head of the Szczecin Health Centre.
The Vaccination Centre is located on site of the gym owned by the University of Szczecin. The conversion of the space for a new function cost PLN 140 000, and it took less than a week to complete.
“We took on the challenge, and arranged everything literally in several days. There were no dilemmas, because the students do not have classes here due to the epidemic, so the premises can be used in a different way,” said Prof. Waldemar Tarczyński, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Szczecin.
The Centre which has been prepared by the City is an addition to the list of those already operating in Szczecin. We currently have over 40 vaccination centres. The detailed list is available here.
NOTE! Only persons who have received referrals for a COVID-19 vaccination can report to the aforementioned Centres.
