A new transport interchange in Podjuchy to be completed soon

The next two months will see the final stage of construction of the new transport interchange in Podjuchy. The winter break is over, and the advancement of the works is very high. In the spring the parking lot and the new bus stop infrastructure will be available to municipal transport passengers.

Currently works involving the replacement of the paving stone and pavements are being carried out, along with the beddings on bus bay platforms. The area around the site is also being arranged. At the same time, works in the rest & refreshment and cash desk building are under way. Wall insulation, concrete floors and gypsum finishing inside are ready. Works on sanitary and power systems are being continued.

The plan for the following weeks:

- continuation of surface works

- continuation of works in the rest & refreshment and cash office building

- continuation of works related to the establishing of lawns and plantings

- commencing the installation of structural landscaping

- laying foundations for the ticket machine and the Spatial information System

 About the task

The construction of the transport interchange at the Podjuchy station is a part of the project carried out by the Szczecin Metropolitan Area Association in relation to the construction of the Szczecin Metropolitan Railway, which will constitute a public transport axis in the Szczecin functional area. Transport interchanges created within the project are aimed to improve connections between various transport modes and contribute to a greater popularity of public transport.

The works will include in particular:

- the construction of the bus terminus with land management,

- the construction of Park&Ride parking lots for passenger cars,

- the construction of a Park&Ride parking lot,

- the construction of waiting shelters,

- the performance of Passenger Information System components,

- the dismantling of the existing objects and pavings,

- the construction of the rest & refreshment and cash desk facilities,

- the construction of the system for counting vehicles at the parking lot,

- the construction/redevelopment of pavements,

- the construction/redevelopment of street lighting,

- the construction/redevelopment of drainage for the designed pavings,

- the redevelopment of conflicting utilities,

- the construction of exits,

- the introduction of a permanent traffic arrangement.

The cost of the project, with MUSING BUD Sp. z o.o. Sp. k. as the contractor, is PLN 11.6 million.

The construction of the Podjuchy station interchange with related equipment associated with transport integration on railway line No. 273 as part of the project “The construction of the Szczecin Metropolitan Railway with the use of the existing sections of railway lines No. 406, 273, 351”.
