A new tram has already appeared in Szczecin

The first of the ordered two-way trams arrived in Szczecin early in the morning. The employees of the Tramwaje Szczecińskie (Szczecin Trams) company have to do the finishing work so as to enable the tram go to the line in the following weeks.

The first two-way tram Moderus Beta MF 29 AC BD was delivered on Monday. The delivery is carried out under the contract concluded in September with Modertrans Poznań Sp. z o.o. company, which provides for the delivery of two such vehicles with the possibility of exercising the option right for another two trams.

      - The assembly works were performed by our employees in the production hall of the Contractor - informs Hanna Pieczyńska, the press spokesperson of the Tramwaje Szczecińskie company. - This will allow the vehicle to be put into service faster. After unloading the vehicle, preparatory work, related to, inter alia, dynamic tests as well as running and configuration of individual systems in the vehicle will begin. The new acquisition must also be adapted to the specifics of Szczecin - passenger information, monitoring, depot management system. Practical trainings for tram drivers and depot service will also be provided.

A two-way tram will be used to various extent - during repairs, for dedicated network fragments or to handle the current traffic, interchangeably with one-way units. The use of such trams makes it possible to run the line without the need to build a classic tram loop.

two separate places for a wheelchair or a pram in the low-floor section (marked with a large graphic sign on the floor) and two platforms facilitating access for wheelchairs (one for each direction of travel).

passenger information system (visual and audio), internal and external monitoring,

      - in each section, in the passenger compartment, there will be available two double USB power sockets for charging a mobile phone.
