A new kindergarten will be built at Przygodna Street

A modern and functional kindergarten facility for 350 children, with a separate section for 30 children of nursery age, will be erected at Przygodna Street in Szczecin. The city already prepared the concept of the institution and is working on the announcement of a tender for the implementation. 

The planned facility will have two storeys. There will be a lift and an open internal atrium. The kindergarten divisions will be located on two storeys: seven on the ground floor, and seven on the first floor. A branch of the children’s club with a separate entrance will be located on the ground floor. All children’s rooms will be equipped with modern devices for exercise, games and movement games, such as a “magic carpet”, interactive monitors and other toys.

In the kindergarten there will also be a “world experience” room equipped with various instruments stimulating the development of children's senses. The building will have a full kitchen and social facilities, auxiliary and cleaning personnel social facilities (with a storage and technical part), a multifunctional room with telescopic stands and dedicated support areas, a sports hall, administrative rooms and teachers’ facilities with a conference room. 

The building will be energy-efficient, e.g. through the use of a heating system with solar panels, heat pump or LED lighting. An extensive monitoring and access control system will be installed in the property.

In the outer part, there will be a multifunctional pitch with a safe synthetic surface; there will also be playgrounds with comprehensive equipment including integration devices, a sensory path and a sledging hill. A vegetable and flower garden is also envisaged as an eco-education space for the youngest. Various species of trees and shrubs will be planted around the building. There will also be a public car park for parents (with access control) and a utility square with parking spaces for staff and suppliers.

The investment will be implemented in the “design and build” formula. Supervision over the implementation of the investment will be exercised by the Office for Investment and Educational Repairs of the Szczecin City Hall.

More nursery places will be created

In addition to the investment in Przygodna Street, the City of Szczecin is also planning to adapt the premises in 2, Kusocińskiego Street for the purposes of another municipal nursery. There will be space for 88 children. The facility will be established next year. According to the decision of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy, Szczecin will receive funds for this project in the amount of PLN 2,640,000 under the governmental competition Maluch+ 2021. It is estimated that the total cost of creating a new nursery will amount to PLN 4 150 000.
