We invite you to the witch's cottage to meet art, folklore and uncensored mystery. February 16 (Wednesday) at 18:00, there will be a vernissage of the exhibition "Baba Jaga" and a meeting with the author - Katarzyna Górewicz.
The figure of Baba Yaga is strongly associated with the Slavic culture. The series of black and white linocuts was created in the pandemic year of 2021, and its original inspiration was the author's childhood dream.
Graphics from this series also served as illustrations for a picture book, "What are you like, Baba Jaga?" which the author published at the end of last year. During the vernissage, the author will also talk about her book and the character of Baba Yaga.
Katarzyna Górewicz (born in 1981 in Kołobrzeg) - visual artist, graphic artist and illustrator. A graduate of the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg in the field of Design, with a specialisation in Illustration/Communication Design. She took part in graphic and photo exhibitions, art installations and illustrations for book publications. Since 2013, she has been living in Szczecin, co-creating the Triglav publishing house with her husband.
