    WKA Karate World Championships

Netto Arena, ul. Władysława Szafera 3/5/7

On September 16th-18th, the WKA Karate World Championships will be held in Szczecin's Netto Arena. Nearly half a thousand athletes from 26 countries will participate, including persons from Australia, Brazil, Ukraine and Zimbabwe.

The event will start on September 15th at Wały Chrobrego (Chrobry Embankment). There will be a number of accompanying events: verification and weighing at the Focus Hotel, Judging and Technical Seminars at the Maritime University of Technology (competitors will be trained under the supervision of a famous competitor Andrea Calzola from Italy) and a dinner for judges and VIPs at the Columbus Restaurant.

The event's Opening Ceremony is scheduled for September 16th at 7 p.m. in Netto Arena.

One of the main highlights of the WKA World Championships will be the International Karate Gala "UKF 5 & UKF Finals", which will take place in the Netto Arena on September 17th at 8:30 p.m. In the fight of the evening, we will see Krystian Patalas (Poland) and Kamil Hejmanowski (England). The event will be broadcast on the PPV system.

The WKA Karate World Championship is Szczecin's largest and most important sports event this year. The City of Szczecin and West Pomeranian Voivodeship co-financed the event. The event organiser is the Szczecin Bushikan Karate Club, on behalf of the Polish Karate Federation. The president of both is the 5-time World Champion and 10-time European Champion Paweł Bombolewski, the Honorary Ambassador of Szczecin.

Tickets for the event, for PLN 20 per day, will be available at the ticket offices of the Netto Arena.

This is not the first time that Bushikan has been able to promote the advantages of Szczecin and the West Pomeranian Voivodeship by organising an event of such a high rank in Karate - it was already in 2014 thanks to the Children's, Cadet and Junior World Championships, as well as the 2020 World Cup.
