Marcin Masecki is one of the most versatile artists on the Polish music scene, a virtuoso who blends genres and breaks down the boundaries between high art and popular entertainment. This evening, he will perform material from his latest album, Boleros y Masecki.
The album continues Masecki’s personal journey through the music of Latin America. It features beautiful boleros and other genres from that part of the world, this time presented in a more personal and distinctive artistic language.
The ensemble has been expanded to include two trumpets, two trombones and two saxophones, while Masecki’s sweeping arrangements transform popular songs into multi-part symphonic poems. Boleros y Masecki is a fascinating synthesis of Latin culture and Slavic sensitivity. A new genre is being born before our eyes.
