Inspector Jass on the Trail, or Jazz with a Story Behind It: Jazz Waves

Spring has arrived, bringing with it a fresh current of energy, new moments in which nature awakens, and the world around us begins to sound different.

In April, Inspector Jass has decided to follow that very wave. Jazz Waves marks the culmination of another series of workshops involving students from the Faculty of Jazz and Music Production at the Academy of Art in Szczecin. The workshops will be led by Szymon Łukowski, and the programme will offer a broad spectrum of jazz styles and influences from swing and modal landscapes to more classical and more contemporary sounds, all enriched, as jazz so often is, by a great deal of improvisation.

The history of jazz unfolds in waves, periods of acceleration and stillness, of change and return. Each has reshaped the way music is heard, performed and understood. Jazz Waves is an attempt to capture that movement within a single concert: not merely as a survey of styles, but as an ongoing process that continues to evolve.
