Between Voice and Shadow

Katarzyna Jackowska

The Lentz Villa
On the opening evening of September, pianist Itay Dvori, saxophonist Detlef Bensmann and violinist Pauline Reguigpresent Between Voice and Shadow – a chamber concert exploring the legacy of Jewish composers whose works have too often been overlooked.
From the intimate lyricism of Fanny Hensel to the jazz-inspired modernism of Erwin Schulhoff, and contemporary voices such as Marc Eychenne and Detlef Bensmann, the programme reveals music that transcends stylistic and cultural labels while carrying echoes of history. Three instruments – violin, saxophone and piano – engage in a vivid dialogue where every voice speaks clearly, yet with something long hidden in the shadows.
