New bus stop arrangement on Rodła Square

In connection with the introduction of a regular traffic arrangement in the area of Rodła Square on 23 March 2024 (for night lines, from the night of 23/24 March 2024), changes will be made to the operation of lines 58, 59, 68, 70, 90, 101, 107, 806, B, C, 522, 523, 524, 525, 529, 530, 531 and 532. The changes will also affect lines 53, 63 and 66.

Changes resulting from the introduction of the final bus stop arrangement in the area of Rodła Square:

• Lines 58 and 59:
  • Towards Rodła Square:
    • “Plac Rodła” terminus stop (for getting off, No. 11511) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo (line 12 stop);
    • “Filharmonia” and “Plac Żołnierza Polskiego” temporary stops will be removed.
  • Towards Gocław, Policka, Zajezdnia Golęcin:
    • “Plac Rodła” first stop (for getting on, No. 11534) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Port Gate.
• Lines 68 and 107:
  • Towards Rodła Square:
    • “Plac Rodła” stop for getting off (with the option to continue the journey to the terminus stop; No. 11511) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo (line 12 stop);
    • “Plac Rodła” terminus stop (No. 11528 for line 68, No. 11529 for line 107) will be located along Roosevelta Street;
  • Towards Świergotki, Rostocka, Police Wyszyńskiego Polana:
    • “Plac Rodła” first stop (No. 11528 for line 68, No. 11529 for line 107) will be located along Roosevelta Street (line 68 – centre of the platform, line 107, beginning of the platform, i.e. From the side of Mazowiecka Street);
    • “Plac Rodła” additional stop (No. 11534) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Port Gate.
• Line 70:
  • “Plac Żołnierza Polskiego” (No. 11321) stop will be opened located within the tram tracks from the side of Hołdu Pruskiego Square,
• Line 90:
  • “Brama Portowa” (No. 10831) stop will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Potulicka Street (for lines 1 and 3);
  • “Plac Żołnierza Polskiego” stop (No. 11331) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Port Gate (for lines 1 and 10);
  • “Filharmonia” additional stop (No. 11412) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Hołdu Pruskiego Square;
  • “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11524) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Matejki St.;
• Line 101:
  • Services will run between Plac Rodła and Police Jasienica Pętla;
  • Towards Rodła Square:
    • “Plac Rodła” terminus stop (for getting off, No. 11511) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo (line 12 stop);
    • “Filharmonia” and “Plac Żołnierza Polskiego” temporary stops will be removed.
  • Towards Police Jasienica Pętla:
    • “Plac Rodła” first stop (for getting on, No. 11534) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Port Gate.
    • “Rayskiego” additional stop (No. 12931) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Rodła Square.
• Line 806:
  • Towards Rodła Square:
    • “Brama Portowa” (No. 10831) stop will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Potulicka Street (for lines 1 and 3);
    • “Plac Żołnierza Polskiego” stop (No. 11331) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Port Gate (for lines 1 and 10);
    • “Plac Rodła” terminal stop (No. 11532), will be located along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Mazowiecka Street (near Delikatesy shop).
  • Towards Pomorzany Dobrzyńska: stop locations as before.
• Line B:
  • Towards Osiedle Arkońskie:
    • “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11532), will be located along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Mazowiecka Street (near Delikatesy shop).
  • Towards Osiedle Bukowe: stop locations as before.
• Line C:
  • Towards Rodła Square:
    • “Plac Rodła” stop for getting off (with the option to continue the journey to the terminus stop; No. 11532) will be located along Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Mazowiecka Street (near Delikatesy shop).
    • “Plac Rodła” terminal stop (No. 11527), will be located along Roosevelta Street;
  • Towards Osiedle Kasztanowe:
    • “Plac Rodła” first stop (No. 11527), will be located along Roosevelta Street (end of the platform, i.e. from the side of Piłsudskiego Street);
    • “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11535), located along Wyzwolenia Street (near “Lot”) will not be serviced.
• Lines 522 and 532:
  • Towards Warszewo, Rostocka, Osów, Osiedle Arkońskie:
    • “Plac Żołnierza Polskiego” stop (No. 11332) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Port Gate (for lines 2, 3 and 6);
    • “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11534) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Port Gate.
    • “Rayskiego” additional stop (No. 12931) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Rodła Square;
    • “Plac Witosa” stop (No. 18912) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Rodła Square;
  • Towards Osiedle Kasztanowe, Dąbie Osiedle, Osiedle Bukowe:
    • “Plac Witosa” stop (No. 18911) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo;
    • “Rayskiego” stop (No. 12912) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo;
    • “Plac Rodła” additional stop (No. 11511) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo (line 12 stop);
    • “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11535), will be located along Wyzwolenia Street (near “Lot”).
• Line 523:

    • “Plac Witosa” stop (No. 18911) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo;
    • “Rayskiego” stop (No. 12912) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo;
    • “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11511) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo (line 12 stop, right platform);
• Line 524:
  • Towards Pomorzany Dobrzyńska:
    • “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11511) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo (line 12 stop);
  • Towards Police Zajezdnia, Police Jasienica Pętla:
    • “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11542), will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Grunwaldzki Square.
• Line 525:

    • “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11512) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo (lines 2 and 3 stop);
  • Towards Wernyhory:
    • “Plac Rodła” additiona stop (No. 11524) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Matejki St.;
    • “Rayskiego” stop (No. 12931) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Rodła Square;
    • “Plac Witosa” stop (No. 18912), will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Rodła Square.
• Line 529:
  • Towards Rodła Square:
    • “Brama Portowa” (No. 10831) stop will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Potulicka Street (for lines 1 and 3);
    • “Plac Żołnierza Polskiego” stop (No. 11331) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Port Gate (for lines 1 and 10),
    • the terminus stop, “Plac Rodła” (No. 11532), will stay in the current location. Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Mazowiecka Street (near Delikatesy shop).
  • Towards Zawadzkiego, Jaworowa: stop locations as before.
• Line 530:
  • Towards Rodła Square:
    • “Plac Witosa” stop (No. 18911) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo;
    • “Rayskiego” stop (No. 12912) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo;
    • “Plac Rodła” stop for getting off (with the option to continue the journey to the terminus stop; No. 11511) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Niebuszewo (line 12 stop);
    • “Plac Rodła” terminal stop (No. 11527), will be located along Roosevelta Street;
  • Towards Podbórz:
    • “Plac Rodła” first stop (No. 11527), will be located along Roosevelta Street (end of the platform, i.e. from the side of Piłsudskiego Street);
    • “Plac Rodła” additional stop (No. 11534) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Port Gate.
    • “Rayskiego” stop (No. 12931) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Rodła Square;
    • “Plac Witosa” stop (No. 18912), will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Rodła Square.
• Line 531:
  • Towards Wernyhory:
    • “Plac Żołnierza Polskiego” stop (No. 11332) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Port Gate (for lines 2, 3 and 6);
    • “Plac Rodła” stop (No. 11534) will be located within the tram tracks from the side of Port Gate.
  • Towards Osiedle Bukowe: stop locations as before.
• Bus stops located along Piłsudskiego Street in the section from Wyzwolenia Avenue to Matejki Street (at the level of KFC and PZU) will be technical stops, without passenger exchange.
• The following stops will be removed:
  • “Rayskiego” (No. 12921) located along Malczewskiego Street in the bus bay,
  • Temporary stops “Plac Witosa” (Nos. 18913 and 18914) located by the street at Wyzwolenia Avenue.
  • “Plac Rodła” temporary stop (No. 11543) located along Piłsudskiego Street before the junction with Mazurska Street (towards Grunwaldzki Square),
  • “Plac Rodła” temporary stop (No. 11531) located by the street at Wyzwolenia Ave behind the junction with Mazowiecka Street (towards Niebuszewo),
  • temporary stops “Plac Żołnierza Polskiego” (Nos. 11313 and 11314) located by the street at Wyzwolenia Ave. before the junction with Małopolska Street (towards  Niebuszewo),
  • “Plac Żołnierza Polskiego” temporary stop (No. 11330) located along Niepodległości Ave before Żołnierza Polskiego Sq. (towards Niebuszewo),
  • “Filharmonia” temporary stop (No. 11410) located by the road at Matejki Street before the junction with Mazowiecka Street (towards Hołdu Pruskiego Square).

Other changes:

• “Milczańska” stops will be opened for lines 53, 523 and 529 in both directions (No. 27121 towards Mieszka I Street, No. 27122 towards Powstańców Wlkp. Avenue), located along Milczańska Street at the level of properties 29-30.
• “Bogumińska Park” stop (No. 59811) will be opened for lines 58, 59, 63, 101, 107, 523 and 524 along Bogumińska Street behind the junction with Krucza Street (towards Police). This will be a request stop.
• The “Strzałowska Wiadukt” stop (No. 59911) will be opened for line 58, located along Strzałowska Street at the level of property No. 40 (towards Rodła Square). This will be a request stop.
• The “Świętojańska” stop (No. 44012) will be opened for lines 59 ad 524, located along Świętojańska Street at the level of property No. 13 (towards Rodła Square). This will be a request stop.
• For line 59 (for services via Studzienna Street, in both directions), the “Żelechowa” stop (No. 59711) will be opened, located along Żelazna Street next to the future Żelechowa Fast Urban Railway (SKM) stop. This will be a request stop.
• The “Golęcińska” stops for line 59 will be changed into request stops.
• The “Rostocka” stop will additionally be opened for line 68 towards the “Świergotki” terminus, which will be shared with line 89 (No. 45422).
• Platforms for lines 66 and B will be swapped at the “Osiedle Bukowe” terminus. Line 66 buses will stop at the inner platform (No. 84613), whereas line B buses will stop at the outer platform (No. 84611).
• Line B will have a different division of weekday schedule. It will be divided into school days and school holidays.
• For line 532, the current service at 4:40 between Osów and Plac Rodła will be extended to the “Brama Portowa” stop.

Changes at Rodła Square will also include traffic lights – their timing will be changed from the morning of 23 March. The cycle time will still be 120 seconds long.  However, the lengths of lights at different phases will be changed on individual inlets. The main goal of the traffic lights timing change will be:

– to improve safety by introducing control over individual inlets, which will improve traffic flow and safety, especially for vehicles turning left at the crossroads. The green light lengths at inlets will be 22-29 seconds;

 – to improve the capacity of inlets for public transport. Each inlet will have two entries per cycle, which will maintain the effective servicing of the joint tram and bus stops after introducing buses on the trackage.

 – the functioning of pedestrian crossings on the tram tracks will be improved;

 – the traffic lights coordination along Wyzwolenia Avenue will be improved (it will operate in both directions).

In addition, with the changes to the traffic lights timing on Rodła Square and due to the restructuring of public transport, particularly public transport buses, it is necessary to introduce one-way traffic along Mazowiecka Street in the section from Roosevelta Street to Wyzwolenia Avenue.

 

The city services will monitor road traffic after the changes are introduced and will take further action if needed.
