Christmas Fair to Begin in Less Than a Month

The largest Christmas Fair in Szczecin will begin on November 29. For three weeks, you will be able to visit stands and take part in the animations that will be prepared.

Aleja Kwiatowa, Plac Adamowicza and Plac Lotników - these three squares will be the centre of Christmas preparations from the 29th of November  to the 22nd of December.

- This year we will start in November - on the last Friday of the month, the wooden houses of our exhibitors will open with a Christmas offer - informs Celina Wołosz, spokesperson for Żegluga Szczecińska Turystyka Wydarzenia. - In total, there will be almost 95 stands, which will be full of Christmas baked goods, treats, gifts, handicrafts, ready-made decorations and wreaths, as well as hot drinks and aromatic gingerbread.

Among the exhibitors will be not only local producers, but also manufactories from all over Poland. It will be tasty, colourful and very festive. There will also be permanent attractions for children. A colourful Venetian carousel will appear on Adamowicz Square, and a 15-metre mill wheel, from which you can see a beautiful panorama not only of all the squares of the Fair but also of the entire festive Szczecin, will be placed in the Aleja Kwiatowa.

- We can already assure you that a wooden, 14-metre windmill, which gives a unique atmosphere to the entire event, will return to Plac Lotników  - says Celina Wołosz.

The Christmas Fair also offers many interesting proposals for spending time with the family. Each weekend of the Fair, and we will have as many as 4 of them! will be full of a rich artistic programme.

Actors will appear on stage with their performances, musicians with Christmas songs, as well as creative animators who will take children to the land of games and fun. The Christmas Market will also be a great opportunity to learn more about the history of Szczecin and the customs of the time – this will be possible during walks with city guides, which will take place on the weekends of the market (in Polish and German). In addition, there will be a whole host of outdoor games in which entire families will be able to take part. There will be Christmas quizzes, charades and creative games that will engage not only children, but above all parents.

- Every year, we try to remember about others during the Christmas Market - says Celina Wołosz. - When visiting the it, you will be able to write a few warm words to seniors who are normally under the care of Social Welfare Homes. Letters will be sent to them before Christmas.

Just like last year, you will be able to use our Bombkodzielnia (sharing Christmas decorations) on the grounds of the Market. Those who have too many decorations at home can share them with others. There will also be last minute Christmas trees – all the trees that decorated our squares at the end of the Fair will be handed over to residents who will bring treats for animals at the Kudłata Przystań association.

The Szczecin Christmas Fair will last from the 29th of November  to the 22nd December.
