      This is the news for which many drivers have waited – a new intersection will become available connecting Krygiera and Granitowa Street. Since Monday 24 May 2021 the street will be open in all directions.

      Changes to the traffic arrangement will start to apply on Monday 24 May from early morning hours. Transport access will be provided through newly constructed sections of Krygiera and Granitowa Street, and the new intersection will be open in all direction with roundabout traffic.

      Due to the continuing redevelopment works at the intersection of Granitowa and Marmurowa Street, entry to Marmurowa Street will be closed.

      Drivers are asked to remain cautious.

      What’s happening at the construction site

      The Contractor is currently carrying out sheet piling installation works on one of the abutments of the constructed bridge. Bituminous and paving works are being carried out, and horizontal markings are being made. New greenery planting is also being carried out.

      About the project

      The project includes the construction of a crossing with a central island with traffic lights and the reconstruction of Krygiera and Granitowa streets, located in the vicinity of the crossing. As part of the works, the existing road bridge over the Regalica River, which has been excluded from traffic, will be demolished. It will be replaced by a new crossing. The works will also include the construction of pavements and bicycle paths; road markings and road safety devices; storm water drainage; lighting and acoustic screens. 

      The cost is over PLN 114 million. The contractor is a consortium of Roverpol sp. z o.o. and Rover Infraestructuras S.A. Project management is performed by the City Investment Department of the Szczecin City Hall.

      The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Infrastructure and Environment  Operational Programme 2014-2020. The amount of co-financing is PLN 72,797,093.95.
