Water in our taps is clean and safe

With regard to information about contamination of the Oder River and many questions about drinking water for the residents of Szczecin, we would like to remind you that there is no cause for concern regarding the contamination of the river water.
The drinking water in Szczecin does not come from the Oder River. 90% comes from Lake Miedwie and 10% comes from underground intakes in Pilchowo and Skolwin. The water in our taps is clean and safe, meticulously tested daily at 12 points in the city by a certified laboratory.
