Szczecin to co-finance the local airport as agreed

In the light of recent media reports concerning the Szczecin Goleniów Airport (PLS-G), the City of Szczecin has declared that despite the difficult situation related to the Covid-19 pandemic, it will respect the agreements in force and comply with decisions taken by the Shareholders.
The Mayor of Szczecin upholds the capital injection of PLN 10,185,000 in the Company, in keeping with the agreement concluded and the resolutions passed by the Shareholders.
As a growing agglomeration, Szczecin needs a well-functioning airport. New flight connections launched in recent years reflect a substantial demand for such services. The City’s goal is to maintain airport operation and to ensure liquidity as well as further development and a smooth operation of the airport in the future.
We would also like to inform you that the press statement issued by the PPL [“Polish Airports”
State Enterprise] presented a wrong amount of the capital injection by the Municipality of Szczecin.
In accordance with Resolution No. 21/2020 of 25 August 2020, the City of Szczecin will support the Szczecin-Goleniów Airport with the amount of PLN 10,185,000 while the West Pomerania Region’s share amounts to PLN 5 million.
The City of Szczecin has a share of 35.04% in PLS-G.
