Szczecin schools once again prove their quality

Secondary School of General Education No. 13 (XIII Liceum Ogólnokształcące) and the Technical Secondary School of Organisation and Management (Technikum Organizacji i Zarządzania), together with School Complex No. 8, ranked high in the “Perspektywy” national Ranking of Secondary and Vocational Schools. This is another year in a row when the Ranking Jury recognised Szczecin’s educational establishments.

For years now the “Thirteen” has occupied leading places in the rankings prepared by the monthly magazine "Perspektywy". This year, just like twelve months ago, Szczecin’s secondary school was at the top of the list, coming in third. In addition to our school, the podium was also taken by Warsaw’s Stanisław Staszic Secondary School of General Education No. 14 Warsaw (XIV LO im. Stanisława Staszica z Warszawy) and Academic Secondary School of the University of Nicolaus Copernicus (Liceum Akademickie UMK) in Torun.

Even though the way in which schools are assessed has changed over the years,  Secondary School of General Education No. 13 has time and again proved with its results that it is among the top Polish schools. When compiling this year’s ranking of general secondary schools, the following factors were taken into account: final examination results in additional subjects (45% of points), results in compulsory subjects (30% of points) and successes in school olympiads (25% of points).

Moreover, Secondary School of General Education No. 13 was also ranked 4th in the Ranking of Olympic Schools and 7th in the Secondary School Final Examinations Ranking.

It is worth noting that the top 50 of Secondary Schools of General Education, as last year, also featured Mieszko I Secondary School of General Education No. 2 in Szczecin. Additionally, the so called “Pobożniak”, was also classified in the top 50 of the Secondary School Final Examinations Ranking.

This year, again, the  Technical Secondary School of Organisation and Management, located in School Complex No. 8, was also highly successful. The school was ranked ninth in the  Main Ranking of Technical Secondary Schools. Here, the Ranking Jury considered such factors as the results of vocational exams (30% of points), the results of secondary-school final examinations in compulsory subjects (20% of points) and additional subjects (30% of points), as well as successes in school Olympiads (20% of points).

This year’s ranking of the Technical Secondary School of Organisation and Management means that, just like last year, it is the best school of its kind in the West Pomeranian region.
